OK BUT THE FACT THE WRITERS ARE DOING THIS KNOWING THAT JASON GRACE EXISTS. Thalia SCREAMING that she will not be a weapon WHILE Jason is being ACTIVELY groomed into being a living weapon. Him being raised by wolves and raised by the army and his only purpose being Jupiter’s weapon while Thalia is doing everything in her power to get away from that?? How she ABSOLUTELY sees Jason in Annabeth and she’ll probably see him in Percy and she’s going to think about how they’re the same age and they’re so young and she wants to protect them the way she COULDN’T protect her baby brother and she’s right but in the WRONG WAY. What is she going to DO when she sees him and in the last fourteen years nobody paid enough attention to notice that he needs glasses. What is HE going to think when he hears her story and what their father did to her and what could’ve happened to him if he stepped out of line and how he fought for the father that did this. WHAT IS SHE GOING TO DO WHEN TOA HAPPENS. It’s been 10+ years since I last read “The Lost Hero” and “you tried to eat a stapler when you were two” is still seared in my brain forever. what i love about the dc absolute universe is that it’s not an edgy version of these characters, they’re not attempting a “what if your favourite hero was a bad guy”. no, instead it tells us that the circumstances in which these heroes become are so different and sometimes so adverse and YET they choose to be heroes, they choose kindness, compassion, justice and truth. That it doesn’t matter how you’re brought in to the world, it matters what you do when you have the opportunity and circumstance to do better. at its core that’s exactly what wonder woman, superman and batman represent.
