I know a lot of you donât know this, but your parents should never act hateful towards you, no matter what you do. Parents should never yell insults after you, call you names, tell you that youâre a selfish brat, call you stupid, or compare you to demons and monsters, threaten you, talk in a way that makes you feel terrified or trapped, imply that you deserve to suffer, blame you for everything wrong ever, try to physically hurt you, throw things at you, imply they would like to cause you pain, or that they regret not hurting you more - these are all acts of hatred, and they exist to let children know theyâre being despised, and that parents want them to be in pain, to feel isolated and alone with heavy and broken hearts, because children donât hate anyone, and donât deserve to be hated by anyone.
No mistake you make should bring you full fledged hatred as a response. In any kind of relationship, you donât throw contempt and loathing at a person who made a mistake, so why should parents inflict this on a child? It creates this insane belief that as soon as you go a little wrong, itâs okay to absolutely despise you, to hurt you, to lash out at you, as if you could ever deserve that. That is not how life works! We donât absolutely destroy any person who isnât completely in the right in every situation!
Parents are responsible for showing children theyâre lovable no matter what. Parents are supposed to make it easier for children to accept their own mistakes, to not blame themselves and to feel comfortable with learning thru mistakes - thereâs no other way to learn. Parents should let children know that no mistake should bring them down, or get them hurt, mistakes should be handled with ease, explained and if thereâs any harm, made up for. Not demonized and used as an excuse to hurt the child, and definitely not punished, as if any human being has the right to punish another for a mistake.
Everyone always goes on and on about parentâs âgood intentionsâ but nobody has the moment to spare about childâs good intentions. When a child knocks something over, nobody thinks for a second about what was child trying to reach, what they were trying to do. People donât think about how children try hard to make others happy, how they go out of their way to do things to cheer them up, how they think of crazy ideas that would end in everyoneâs happiness! Or at least something majorly cool and fun. You should respect childrenâs intentions more than you respect adultsâ, because adults know damn well how their actions will play out, and you can pretty much count that if adult is doing something evil, itâs exactly the way they intended it to be.
But children donât know what will happen. Theyâre trying things out with optimism and good faith in their hearts. Theyâre curious and their questions often arenât answered so what else they can do but try? You canât expect from a child to know just how their actions will affect everyone. Expect this from adults tho! You can and should expect from adults to know damn well that their hateful actions will harm their child. You absolutely should expect parents to put their irritation aside when itâs time to teach their children about how they can be loved and comforted thru mistakes. You should expect every single adult to be informed about how to not abuse their kid. If they donât know, they should feel responsible to go out of their way to learn, and nobody should be making excuses. Adults should feel ashamed for trying to convince anyone they donât know theyâre hurting children.
