âSee, now thatâs a job I could get behind. I just need all the designers in Alabama to start lining me up with free outfits, and I can just⌠live my life and get paid for it.â She chuckled, still swinging her legs as the other girl continued to count through the drawer of her register. âWeâll have to find somewhere to wear them.â She assured Maybelle, a smile permanently etched on her face. âSomewhere we can show âem off a little. Seems almost a waste to look so cute in a place like Bluebell, doesnât it?â She loved the quaint town, having spent so much of her life there, but Sawyerâs dreams were bigger than some cow-town with one bar and too many fruit stands.Â
When her best friend slid the bill across the table, Sawyer mimicked the motion, returning it instantly. âAbsolutely not, Maybelle.â She argued, shaking her head. âIt is not your job to make up for the lack of gratuity in this town. Besides, weâve still gotta pick up drinks anyways. Save your money for when I inevitably go over my budget at the liquor store.â She chuckled. âDo we need to stop by your place, to grab a swim suit?â She asked, realizing that she probably didnât just keep one at the store.
âIf you truly want to do that, I can talk to some people and see if we can figure something out.â She truly did mean it. She wanted Sawyer to be as happy as she could be and if doing that would make her happy, she would do her best to help. âWe could get you as one of the models for the store. Get pictures and all that. I can contact some of the designers I buy from and see if you could do the same for them. Youâre gorgeous so I donât see why they would say no.â The idea of taking a trip was appealing. âIt has been too long since I was in New Orleans. Maybe we could take a weekend trip soon. Or maybe down to the coast for a little while.âÂ
When the bill was slipped back to her, she pushed it back towards Sawyer. âI know itâs not my job. But I havenât been able to stop by as much when youâre working and so I owe you.â It wasnât really true. She had still been coming in. But she felt terrible that she had a rough night and not much to show for it. âIâll need to stop by my place. Your dress is there, too. So we can make it a nice trip for both of us.â
âThatâs a dream, and probably all itâll ever be.â Sawyer sighed. She knew she was pretty, and sheâd never doubted her looks, but in a small town like theirs, how much could a modeling gig even pay? âIf youâre serious, I wonât say no, but I donât want you to wear yourself thin trying to contact people, either. Bartending isnât the worst thing in the world.â She assured the redhead. âA trip anywhere sounds amazing, honestly. We could pack a few bags and just get away for a few days. A little reminder that the world is so much more exciting outside of Bluebell.â She agreed, a smile lighting up her features. The idea of getting away, with her best friend, was almost a dream. Not only did she need a break, but she never failed to have fun with Maybelle.Â
âBelle!â She whined, knowing that the other girl wasnât going to back down. âFine, but Iâm using it to pay for our drinks tonight.â She pointed out, a knowing look on her face. It didnât seem as though Maybelle was visiting the Rammer Jammer any less, but she wouldnât argue. Not when she knew it wouldnât go anywhere. âThat works for me. I need to borrow a suit, too. Truth be told, I was just gonna jump in, in my underwear, but a bathing suit just sounds so much cuter.â

sawyerdempseyâ:
Nothing was traditional about the things Sawyer and Orion did. Calling themselves friends was almost an insult, considering most of their time together was spent either struggling to discard their clothing, or find it afterwards. But, being at work made that difficult most of the time. Sure, theyâd snuck out back a few times in the past to fool around in her car, but that hardly compared to the satisfaction of leaving together, right?Â
âI get that itâs late, but since when has that ever kept the good people of Bluebell home?â She chuckled, hoisting herself to sit on the counter top next to him. âThereâs not a single soul in here. Iâm tempted to just close up shop for the night.â She wasnât sure if they were allowed to do something like that, though. âUnless you have any ideas on how to spice up the rest of our night?â
There was nothing Orion liked more than convenience - and if he could couple it with his sex life, he would. Sawyer was always teasing him, with her booty shorts and leaning over the bar in just the right way to get his attention - and her drinks faster than the other waitresses. As long as everyone was on the same page, why mess with a good thing?
âMaybe thereâs a game on or something?â Orion never followed sports, but that kept people home, didnât it?  âOr maybe everyone decided tonight was the night to stay home and bone,â he snorted.  âMaybe we should follow suit. Play a game of strip poker or something. Fuck on the bar. Who knows.â
The arrangement between Sawyer and Orion was a simple one. Friends that took off their clothes any chance they got. Naturally, Sawyer didnât think much of it. She wasnât looking to fall in love with the boy, or even for him to drive her home afterwards. She was fine with fooling around and going on with her life, and as long as he was too, things worked out just fine.Â
âWho knows.â She shrugged. One look at the girl and you could tell she didnât know a damn thing about sports. âAs fun as that sounds, I think that might even be too risky for the two of us. They do have a camera in here.â She reminded him, eyes averting to the corner of the room. âThat being said, I donât see why we canât play in the backroom.â
sawyerdempsey¡:
There were few boundaries between the two girls, and Sawyer was just fine with that. Sheâd always been the type to climb into a friendâs lap, or hold their hand, content with just being close to those she cared about, and nothing made her happier than when Maybelle did the same things. It made Sawyer feel special, knowing she probably wasnât like this with everyone. As Maybelleâs finger booped her bottom lip, the dark haired girl pretended as though she was going to bite her, a wide grin taking over her tanned features. âVery few can resist the power of the pout.â She reminded her playfully. âAnd if that doesnât work, Iâve got long eyelashes.â Sawyer was used to getting her way most of the time, but she didnât seem to have to try too hard with her best friend. âWhat kind of friend would I be if I didnât talk while you were trying to count money?â She chuckled, following the other into the backroom.Â
âOh, Belle, you didnât have to do that!â She chimed, perching herself on the edge of the table where Maybelle was sat with the register drawer. Though, she certainly wasnât going to turn away a new dress. Theyâd been friends long enough that she trusted it would be something she liked. âOh, just a bunch of old drunk men who couldnât keep their comments to themselves, or bother leaving a tip to make up for it.â She shrugged, swinging her feet a little. âRemind me again why alcohol makes everyone so gross?â She couldnât help but laugh, knowing that she was probably just as rowdy at times, though she never considered herself to be insulting.Â
Maybelle smiled before shaking her head. âI know I didnât have to do it. But I wanted to. Itâs good advertising to have you wear something that came from my store. We all win.â Part of her was kidding but deep down, she knew it was true. In a town this small, having someone actually in her clothes was better than any advertising she could do. And she got to give her friend a gift. In her mind, it made total sense. âPlus there may have been a matching one I got for myself. Itâs really I need someone to wear them together.â Also true, but also kidding.Â
She shook her head, starting to count out the money once she was settled in on the table. âCorrection-alcohol makes gross people even more gross. And that usually tend to be old men. I think Iâm rather lovely with a few drinks in me. But I just giggle about everything and call everyone pretty.â She knew what Sawyer was talking about. People assumed things and could be horrible to almost anyone. She slipped a twenty in front of her friend before counting them. âConsider that their tip and my fee for not being there to save you.â
âSee, now thatâs a job I could get behind. I just need all the designers in Alabama to start lining me up with free outfits, and I can just... live my life and get paid for it.â She chuckled, still swinging her legs as the other girl continued to count through the drawer of her register. âWeâll have to find somewhere to wear them.â She assured Maybelle, a smile permanently etched on her face. âSomewhere we can show âem off a little. ⥠001. SAWYER & ORION
The Rammer Jammer was certainly not the most luxurious place to spend each day, but it was honest work, and Sawyer usually made a killing in tip money â something she owed to her short shorts and the flattering tee shirts she wore during her shifts. But, no matter how slowly the hours passed, or how many times the town drunk spilled his beer, Sawyer was thrilled when her schedule lined up with Orionâs.Â
The two had an interesting relationship, to say the least, and they always found daring ways to pass time at the little bar. And, tonight wasnât bound to be any different. âHow much longer?â The raven-haired girl whined, slumping against the bar counter, next to the boy. âI feel like weâve been here an eternity. Itâs never this fuckinâ slow.â ( @devinestardustâ )
Nothing about his relationship with Sawyer shocked Orion at all; he rarely let an opportunity pass him by, and never even thought twice about sleeping with his coworkers, and if he was being honest he had even lost a few jobs over it - but that didnât seem to be a problem here, as long as they were getting work done.
âFucking tell me about it,â Orion huffed.  âThere is no reason why people shoudlnât be here right now enjoying a drink or seven,:â

That frustrated sigh was like music to the girlâs ears, a grin tugging at her features as Maybelle pushed past the curtains. She could seem as irritated as she wanted, but Sawyer knew well enough that nobody else in town could get away with pestering the redhead as much as she did. âAnd here I thought my presence was a gift enough.â She chuckled, leaning against the counter as her eyes set on her best friend. âIâm hurt, Belle. Truly.â She exaggerated, sticking out her bottom lip in a pout.Â
In a town like theirs, Sawyer felt like she often didnât fit in, but somewhere along the line, sheâd found Maybelle, and it all fell into place. It was impossible not to feel at home when the two were together. âIâve had the worst day.â She admitted as the girl joined her at the counter. âBut, if my watch is correct, you oughtâa be closing soon, right? I was hoping I could convince you to a night filled with wine and night swimming. God knows I could use it, after the shift from hell I just worked.â
Maybelle leaned over and tapped her bottom lip with her finger. âNone of that. You know I canât say no to you with that lip out.â There was not much Maybelle would say no to. Not when it came to Sawyer. She was pretty much the only person who she couldnât really so no to. âYour presence is always welcome. But I do like real presents, too. Both are equally fun.â Maybelle looked at the large clock she had on the wall. Sawyer was right. It was only about ten minutes until she normally closed. âIâm sorry you had a bad day. Of course I can come and hang out. You wanna stick around while I close up?âÂ
She didnât wait for her response while she moved to turn the sign to close on the door. She quickly locked it before going to grab the drawer from the cash register. âI got a dress you might want in the back, too. If you like it, itâs all yours. I thought it would look cute on you so I ordered it.â She moved into the back, sitting down at the table knowing Sawyer would follow her. They had done this plenty of times before. âWhat made your shift so bad? Is it something you can talk about?âÂ

⥠001. SAWYER & MAYBELLE
To say that Maybelle and Sawyer were an odd pair was probably an understatement. In the amount of time the girls had known one another, their differences stuck out like a sore thumb. But, that never stopped them from having a good time together. In fact, some would even say Sawyer looked the happiest when she was with the ginger-haired girl. And, chances were, sheâd agree.Â
So, it was no surprise that, after a long shift at the Rammer Jammer, Sawyer had made her way down to Maybelleâs clothing shop, stopping inside only to lean over the front counter and ding the small bell six or seven times â annoying the other girl just enough to beckon her attention. ( @maybelle-knox¡ )
There was only one person who was willing to ring her bell like that. There was only one person who Maybelle would let get away with that. Maybelle sighed over-dramatically, making sure Sawyer could hear her from the front. Grabbing the curtain that separated the back from the front, she opened it dramatically. âYou better have a present for me if youâre going to call me like that.â She smiled before dropping the pretense, chuckling softly.Â
Many people didnât get the friendship between the two girls. If you asked her, it made totally sense. They both had been through tragedy and had come out of the other side. Sure, they took different routes. But that was something that only made them closer. She leaned against the counter with a bright smile âHello, my love. How are you?âÂ
