Being a better version of yourself:
Vol. 1 Saying Hi to Tumblr
Hi, my name is Rory and I’m feeling stuck.
I have a job that doesn’t suck, I’m healthy, my family and my partner love me, and I have the smelliest dogs of all. But lately, I’m feeling weird -not about the smelly dog, tho-, I’m feeling trapped in myself and I hate it.
Let me tell you something else: I’m an introvert who enjoys silence, fangirling alone, and having mini panic attacks about social interactions. So, I want to leave here my journey of getting out of my shell and trying new things to feel something. If someone reads this, maybe it's your sign to try something like that. If not… well, this is for me.
The first thing is this post, where I’m going to tell you about myself. I’m just a girl who doesn’t post anything anywhere, too scared of comments and interactions (or the lack of them). I was a silent observer in this digital world—and sometimes in the real world—so this is very, very new to me.
I don’t know exactly why I am challenging myself to do this. I’m not sure but maybe it is because I’m tired of waiting for something to happen to me… so this is me, getting out of my comfort zone.
As I said, I’m a silent follower, silent fanfic reader, silent human. I mean, I enjoy the art that everyone posts in this haunted app and like it, I leave kudos and save the stories of my favorite writers, and sometimes I repost some things here and there… but even when I know it would means something to the authors I feel the panic of being just a little potato in this digital world, where my opinion isn’t important.
I’ve never written and posted something so looooong in my life. And fun fact: I love writing. But every draft just gets as stuck as I feel rn. So let’s try to leave little nice comments on stuff, reblog more, give credit (artist of tumblr, if you are there pls let me know what you prefer! what's the protocol? Since I don’t do it enough I’m not super sure), and ramble about everything, because ok, I’m still a little silent girl in the outside world, but here? nah, I can be better.
