for the record i often think about how in 'The Farm', Adama calls Roslin 'dangerous' and her reaction to hearing that he's up and about is along the lines of 'of course he is, the man doesn't go down easy'. it's about the mutual respect. it's about recognition of the other person's ability to absolutely wreck your shit if it comes down to it. it's about having parallel conversations with your advisors about how to deal with the threat the other person poses to your agenda.
