Evie meeting Audrey parents for the first time (Audrey and Evie are dating) and meeting the grandma and they talk about family day head canons pleaseeee i love Audvie but there is not a lot of stuff about them actually there is not a lot of stuff about Audrey and i don't get it she's awesome
Awwwwww, I get that! Evie and Audrey sound cute as heck, not gonna lie. I love Audrey! She’s a jerk sometimes, but everyone’s a jerk sometimes, so I can live with that. She’s certainly nowhere near as bad as some people believe.
- I wanna say Audrey was invited home for her mom’s birthday and she asked if she could bring her girlfriend along. Her parents were hesitant about it, because Audrey’s not one to hide who she’s dating from her parents, but they did eventually say yes.
- Oh my god, poor Evie. She was so nervous about it. She knows the last time she saw her grandmother didn’t end well. Audrey assured her that that was a long time ago and it should be fine. She just wants to introduce her parents to her pretty new girlfriend.
- Evie was raised to be a princess, but she wants to be absolutely perfect so she keeps having Audrey (and Mal, and occasionally the boys) quiz her on various books about princess-y behaviour and manners, especially for Audrey’s kingdom.
- Audrey tries to calm Evie down but she’s still a little nervous to see Leah again.
- Aurora and Philip were a little awkward - there was a lot of bad blood towards the villains on their end. BUT they also saw what happened at the coronation and so they are willing to keep an open mind. It helps that Audrey’s updates about dating her have been so happy - it’s hard to keep disliking someone making their baby happy.
- The drive to Audrey’s grandpa’s castle is long and for a while it’s very awkward - Audrey keeps trying to liven up the conversation but it falls flat until her mother asked Audrey where she’d gotten a ring she was wearing. Evie made it for her and so Evie and Aurora got to talking about 4 Hearts.
- By the time they’d arrived at Stefan and Leah’s home, Aurora and Philip had relaxed considerably.
- Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather knew Evie from school, so that was much easier. Fairy Grandmothers are already on board with this (and Merryweather may have been texting with Audrey to let her know the mood of the castle for when they arrived).
- Hubert is very explosive but Audrey introduces him to Evie while holding her hand and Philip’s nearby in case he gets mad (as was Stefan, but he’s getting feebler). Turns out they didn’t need to worry too much - he ranted a good bit about Evie’s mother but didn’t have anything to say about Evie herself. Audrey asked if they could talk about something else because he might have upset Evie, and Hubert, to his credit, did apologize. Evie understood but appreciated the apology nonetheless.
- Nobody was quite sure how Leah would react but she was perfectly gracious, after seeing what they’d done to stop Maleficent at the coronation. They talked a little bit about Family Day - Evie was understanding of how upsetting it must have been to run into them without expecting to and of what Maleficent had done and Leah was very much understanding that the children are not their parents. And then she got to talking to her about her new business and it was a fun weekend!
- Evie hung out for things like movie nights and talking over tea and family dinners where she’s NOT criticized for the way she sits, eats, talks, etc. All the little rules and minutiae that she studied for hours over the weekend never came up. By Sunday she felt like she could breathe again.
- Evie was just trying to be the perfect little helper - offering to help with carrying things, clearing tables, cleaning up, offering sympathetic noises or advice when the family was talking about things that sounded unpleasant. By the end of the weekend, they were 100% satisfied with the little lady Audrey brought home. I’d count on repeated invites if I were her.
