The first photo is of a photo I took of @humhairdesign and the world’s best companion, Biscuits, (from 2005) framed with my #chineseevergreen that keeps providing me many new plant friends. The second photo is my quarantine companion begging for food, and the third photo is of the bitch to install #prism creating privacy film I put up so my adjacent neighbor quits seeing my naked body. They are not on the list of “people that get to see me naked” and it feels good to have ended that. I miss hikes but am doing well and hope you all are, too. I hiked Lake 22 with microspikes today (thanks, @davidquarles ) and saw only one other person wearing them even though the last half was all slippery 4-6 banks of snow. I administered first aid to 6 people including using an entire full bottle of Bactine and superglue on a woman with a serious gash. Her and her boyfriend had nothing on them, not even water, and were not elevating her injured leg or applying pressure to the wound. I one by one pulled 10 people stuck down a river bank out who had been stuck down there, out of view for 30 minutes and has to guide people down who kept falling. I also gave my back up socks to a soaking wet kid, watched someone throwing rocks triggering avalanches at the top, saw someone walk on the frozen lake and go waist deep in the water when the ice broke... my first aid kit was ransacked and I felt stressed out the whole time watching people with literally nothing but warm weather gym clothes slip and slide. I asked multiple families with small kids to turn back around since the sun was behind the mountain and people were heading up at 6:30. As I gathered all of the flowers from tables from @restauranthomer last night to make this bouquet, it dawned on me that while I’ll miss income and am nervous about paying for insurance and everything else, more than that I am really going to miss my time with the incredible staff there and also at @mamnoonrestaurant We will get through this and quarantine makes sense but it’s weird to have free time and not enough unemployment to pay our bills. I have plenty of tinned fish, legumes, rice and kombucha to share. Please do not go hungry; let me know what you need. I am planning on hiking constantly so let me know if you want to join me. I just woke up for class and was fondly remembering my trip to #portugal with @humhairdesign this past September - October. I ate the best #mango and so many other delicious things, learned to flip sides on my board and did some of the best #surfing in my life, enjoyed so many #jardimaromatico #museu and walks, felt hopeful about #communism #socialism #decriminalization #workersrights #appreciationofnature and even aprendi a falar portugues! #pimsleur is my favorite language learning program if you want to light up #neuralpathways and make #math and #drumming more seamless for yourself!! New #vivariumseattle project! @heuyee wanted this beautiful vessel restored and to salvage the #succulents and #cactus in the container. The #crassula was moved into a separate pot since the idea was to utilize smaller plants that would stay enclosed in the vessel, so #echeveria were the species used. To all my plant caregivers: you want to make sure there is a layer of #activatedcharcoal in the bottom since #succulents like drainage! Also, #perlite filled #cactussucculent mix is the way to go so these beauties develop root systems and stay with you, indefinitely. This is the first #restoration project I have done and it brought me joy bringing this composition back to life! Unfortunately the #cactus has lost the root system so some #hormonalrootingpowder was used and it’s been #transplanted and, fingers crossed, should bounce back. While I was in Portugal with the love of my life @humhairdesign I kept seeing beautiful artificial #succulents and realized that I wanted a #terrarium for my bathroom with no natural light.
