ꕤ how many books have you read so far this year?

11 so far, most of my time has been relegated to suffering on my clinical rotations but im still finding the time to read!

ꕤ best book you've read so far this year?

true grit by charles portis was a nice surprise for me. slow horses (book #1) by mick herron is kinda like a bond spoof adapted into a show ive been watching so the book is just as fun. i think a common thread so far has been books that are entertaining and keeping me from a slump!

ꕤ most disappointing book you've read so far?

the way of kings by brandon sanderson,,, i really wanted to like it but i just simply can't get into it! my friend gave me his copy as part of a book exchange but unfortunately it just doesn't do it for me </3 and i liked dune so idk.

the wall by marlen haushofer

honestly not many to illicit any real hate </3

this one!! i love the color blocking on it so much!!

so many of them... i think we need a book cover redesign revolution quite honestly... and i hate that half the back covers are covered in quotes... i do not care what the la times thinks im afraid...

michael parenti, i miss him </3

ꕤ what book do you want to read most in the next half of the year?

currently reading east of eden by john steinbeck which has been on my to read for theeee longest time. absalom, absalom! by faulkner which comes highly recommended to me but we shall see.

ꕤ overall, are you enjoying this year of books better, worse, or about the same as last year?

probably a little bit better than last year, im reading less but im trying to pick books i enjoy and putting down the ones I don't!! although last year was the year i finally did my first pass reading through ulysses so that was quite the challenge.

ꕤ do you use any book tracking platforms?

not really! i deleted goodreads a long time ago and never got on storygraph,,, but i do keep track on an excel sheet for myself!
