The only problem I had with “Two to Tangu"  was the B-plot, which seemed to imply that Zandar might have a thing for Hindlegard… but I’d assumed he’d be paired with Sofia.

And then I realized an inescapable, horrible truth… that obsessive shipping had begun to color my viewing of a show…

I keep trying to write the title as “Two to Tengu” for some reason.

I didn’t notice this before (i.e. in The Big Sleepover), but Clio’s carriage has a heart motif, and Hildegard’s is decorated with snowflakes.

Sofia: Amber, are you scared? Amber: Of course I’m scared!

I appreciate Amber’s honesty here.  I totally did not expect her to admit it.  Not because it’s out of character, but because that just doesn’t happen in TV shows.  I wonder why that is.

I also like that she goes ahead and eats it.

How excited Amber gets when she thinks they’re about to approach some ducks.  (Too bad it was the other meaning of duck.)

And of course, Amber’s crazy hair.  Too bad it couldn’t have lasted longer.

Sofia: Look!  That monkey can juggle! Amber: Even James can juggle.

Fortune Teller: You will pass a stand that sells kebabs.  Don’t stop, they’re not very good.

Amber: This is what happens when you try something new.  You end up lost in a strange kingdom picking dates out of your tiara.  And then your flying carpet runs away from you.

“You messed with the wrong princess!”

Nobody gets between Amber and her tiara.

Sofia: Amber, you were amazing! Amber: I was, wasn’t I?

Hildegard may not be impressed, but the prince in brown certainly is.

“But… is it awesome?”

“I don’t know.”

“She doesn’t know.”

“I realized that the only show Hildegard would find truly awesome is a show starring Hildegard.”

Sofia apologizing for making Amber miss the party, and Amber being all “Girl, I got to meet Princess Jasmine today!  And have an adventure.  I should be thanking you.”

“That’s the way we fly in Tangu.”

Ah… Glorious high definition OTP….

I like how Prince Zandar sticks up for Sofia even after she leaves and chews out James for putting Sofia on the magic swing, even though James was responding to Amber’s goading. But, hey, he’s right! James should be held accountable for his actions too.
