The absolute irony of being part of ASOIAF fandom is seeing Targcels be so frustrated about why only the Starks are seen as heroes and their fav Targaryen characters like Ratgar are misunderstood to death. That Targaryens are not monolith represented by the biased writing of Game Of Thrones but much more.
Only to then apply the same monolithic otherness to the Houses they do not like. Hm. The Martells? They are all irrelevant to the main. The Lannisters? They are more or less the same type of evil. The Hightowers? They are all conspiring to overthrow our favourites. The Baratheons? They are all traitors and rebels. Game Of Thrones show only Starks? They are all Lannisters in disguise. et cetera
Targaryens are not monolith but other Houses definitely are according to their stans. That too only when the said Houses happen to take a stand against their favs.
For context I do not like a lot of these Houses and their specific characters but I also know one or two characters do not represent the entire fucking House no matter how hard their annoying stans tempt me to. Or else all should be calling Targaryens Mad Incest Freaks based of Viserys the Beggar King, Aerys the Mad King and finally Daenerys the Mad Queen from the main TV series. Perhaps all should because Targcels are so fucking annoying.

Rhaelya are nuts. Robert is awful for sleeping around while betrothed and fathering a bastard that Lyanna will never see but Rhaegar is wonderful to abandon his toddler, newborn, and recovering wife to shack up with a teenager in Elia's own homeland?
And yes yes, Robert would abuse any woman he married, even Lyanna, but that is hindsight bias.
Lyanna isn't complaining that she thinks Robert hurts women, just that he will be unfaithful.

How could us common folk ever dare to compare Rhaegar with Robert? That would be far too presumptuous, aren’t you afraid you’ll be beheaded for it? Rhaegar didn’t beat his wife, didn’t curse at her, didn’t visit brothels, and before Elia couldn’t have more children, he didn’t take another woman, and that already makes him a model husband among Westerosi men. How absurd. Damn, it almost makes me want to time-travel to Westeros myself, be a handsome, harp-playing privileged man, what a sweet life that would be.Especially if you time-traveled as Rhaegar, with the Mad King before him and Robert after him as the comparison group, even watered-down pork would look like premium Wagyu.
As for Lyanna, I’ve written before that a 15-year-old girl thinking only of herself isn’t exactly surprising. What annoys people is that her fans don’t want Lyanna to look too selfish, too self-absorbed, too double-standerd, and yet all their justifications ends up being nothing but that. I find it pretty strange, what’s so hard about just openly admitting Lyanna only thought of herself and not of others? That’s just another ordinary day in Westeros, nothing unusual at all. The whole series is about the privileged classes doing whatever they please, domineering, backstabbing, each with their own desires. So why is Lyanna the one exception? Why can’t she be the same? Why do her fans refuse to allow it?
