Men always manage to find a way to lecture women. They just can’t accept not being part of a woman’s story. Didn’t it feel a little too familiar to you? Didn’t anything feel off when it appeared in dw? You’ve become so used to it, it’s a pattern, it's a new normal. I’m not even calling myself a Kate fan. But to those who claim to be fans, in your eyes, is this really all Kate deserves? Assembly-line storytelling in the entertainment industry? You don’t question the premise at all. All you ever say is that Ibrahim shouldn’t have died.

"You work very hard, we know that. But what people’re really interested in is your love life…oh no silly me, your personal life."

Oh, so you’re saying Ibrahim is here to help Kate balance work and life? But who asked those fxxking white old male writers to write him in the first place? Without him, Kate wouldn’t need to balance anything. Don’t you realize that what she’s really trying to balance isn’t her life, it’s him. She has to give up gardening, give up playing bridge—those are her real life—just to balance him. He’s like a foreign object invading the whole system. Are you fxxking telling me that gardening and playing bridge aren’t her way of balancing work and finding some joy in life?

You people always say Kate doesn’t have time for bridge or gardening anymore after her promotion. Right, so if she doesn’t even have time for that, how does she still have time to deal with all the bedroom stuff? Is it really that she doesn’t have time after her promotion, or is it that in RTD’s mind, playing bridge and gardening are just boring pastimes for when there’s no man around? RTD loves men more than Kate ever could.

They eventually realized that excessive secrecy only makes audiences lose interest and attention, especially when there are so many new shows coming out each year. So they tried to compensate by flooding the audience with promotional stills and material right before the premiere. But by then, it’s already too little, too late.

For example, creating a strong female character who isn’t one of the Doctor’s companions and doesn’t rely on his "inspiration" to be capable? Aside from the fact that Kate is human and can’t travel through time and space at will, is there any real reason she absolutely has to remain within the Doctor’s "sphere of influence"?

In my last post, I asked if a consistently capable and strong female leader is going to appear in a British TV show these days, why couldn’t it be in Doctor Who? Why couldn’t it be Kate? Don’t they even dare to imagine it? Or does it go beyond the original creative intention of Doctor Who?

The unwritten rule in real life seems to be that women always come with all kinds of problems. But this is Doctor Who. We have a Time Lord with two hearts who keeps regenerating into a British, and even in that world, we still can’t have this kind of female leader?

With that kind of attitude and that "just get by and hope for the best" mindset, what’s the use of constantly shouting slogans about "exploring the character’s depth"? Do they even have anything of substance in their heads? How much ink is actually in their pens? Can they even write it?

Of course, besides lacking the technical skill, there’s also the fact that women are always treated as an afterthought, something to be adjusted and reassigned. Sure, they’ll say they want to explore the depth of a strong female character, but that’s never the priority. Women, just accept being reassigned. There are too many things that come before you. Transgender, environmental protection, climate change and interspecies are always ahead of you. They’d rather pair you up with a man in a romance than focus on you as yourself.
