Do you hear the people sing?

That’s what hurts the most.Osgood and Kate once felt like a pairing that happened naturally. Their chemistry wasn’t manufactured after the fact, it was there from the beginning. But now it feels as though Osgood’s role has been reduced to little more than emotional comfort for a broken woman later in life. Not an equal partner. Not the relationship many of us invested in. Just a convenient narrative bandage. And because this technically satisfies two talking points, "we brought Osgood back" and "Kate likes women", it feels as though they expect us to stop complaining.

But that was never what people were asking for.

We wanted Osgate from the beginning. Instead, they spent years pairing Kate with a man, built a plot so full of holes that the shippers have to do all the heavy lifting to make it work, and only after that direction became deeply unpopular deeply hopeless did they suddenly remember Osgood.

Even now, I can’t shake the feeling that they won’t actually commit to the relationship.It’s as though even their attempt at appeasement comes with conditions attached. They seem to assume that lesbian fans have been starved for so long that merely seeing Kate and Osgood share scenes will be enough, that we won’t expect the same narrative commitment that heterosexual romances routinely receive.

And I worry that they will never fully let the past go, either. That every so often they’ll drag the memory of that man back into the story, not because the narrative genuinely needs it, but as a reminder, "Remember, if he hadn’t broken Kate’s walls down,none of this would have happened."

That implication bothers me more than I can easily explain. It subtly reframes Kate’s relationship with a woman as something that exists only because a man came first, as though her story still has to orbit around him even after the fact.

Maybe none of this is how it will play out.But the anxiety is there.And so is the disappointment.I hope I’m wrong. I genuinely do. I’d rather look back on these fears and laugh at how pessimistic I was than watch them become reality. For now, though, I just need to write these thoughts down. I need to leave a record that this was how it felt before the story reached its conclusion. Because if this does end up exactly the way I fear, I don’t want anyone rewriting history afterward by claiming, "This is what Osgate fans wanted."

It isn’t.

I'm torn with Rhaella. On one hand, I feel her being abusive does show how abused can become abusers themselves. Her being mad enough to scare Aerys is slightly amusing despite the misogynist undertones.

Rhaegar ran off with Lyanna for the sake of prophecy, thinking Daenerys was his third child, I guessed that too. I had guessed that Lyanna might have wolf dreams, or that Bloodraven might be involved, but I never expected the writers to make her even more obsessed with prophecy than Rhaegar, to the point where Rhaegar has to persuade her to let it go. Absolutely wild.
