Someone in the comments said it's their headcanon that this is Matoro translating what Nuju is saying and that makes a lot more sense. So after reading said comment I've decided that headcanon is now official info.

Just fucking realized that when Vakama said Krakua looked like he was wearing ancient armor, that probably means he looks like one of the Inika.

I think he would look more like Helryx since she's the first Toa. I'm also sure Helryx looked a lot more like Krakua when she was like... You know, younger, and being old and stressed has literally shrunken her. It's not easy being that ancient lmao

I swear, as cool as Kualus' Toa design is, I have a hard time looking at him in that form and seeing him as a storied, battle-hardened warrior with thousands of years of experience and wisdom and stuff on par with his Rahaga form. Instead, some part of my brain is inevitably reminded of Matoro when I see him, because they both have the same sort of semi-awkward (and slightly nerdy) late-teen/early-20's vibe, but not in any sort of negative way.

Same, I can't really see Kualus that way either because we also have the fact that for a Toa of ice he's actually very nice and friendly (unlike Kopaka and Nuju for example, not to badmouth them, I love them but you know what I'm talking about), and who else was unusually friendly for a Toa of ice? Matoro of course. Those two could have been good friends if they had the chance, given how much they actually in common. Picture Kualus and Matoro bird speaking and none of their siblings understanding a thing they are saying lmao

I love how Greg Farshtey would write the most sensual scenes between these two and some of the best romantic tension I've seen for a kid-oriented property only for him to pull a Sega and say romance isnt canon for the dumbest reason possible

Since Bionicle online series were never continued, it was revealed that Takanuva was supposed to play a VERY important role during the Great Beings and Velika civil war. It's also mentioned that Helryx and Krakua knew what Takanuva's true destiny was, and that Krakua was left feeling uncomfortable about not telling him the whole truth when he left to look for the Toa Nuva in Karda Nui. We don't know if said "whole truth" was about Takanuva's participation in the upcoming war, but it's a possibility.

Wasn't there also an army of Shadow Takanuvas that were kidnapped from alternate universes that never got sorted out?
