"600 users" is crazy because that's not even correct. the site is gaslighting you. tell everyone to close their tabs and watch that number halve. it's worse than you think

I feel like that's underestimating how many people are still active from the heyday of msparp. there could easily be 600 people, but the way the website is done makes it hard to even tell, especially when you stick to only one fandom or two.

actually fun fact: the tab thing doesnt seem to have much veracity. I opened 30 cherp tags to see whether itd make the little population thing go up (i wanted to see it at 700) but it stayed consistent, around 670, without going up much. when i deleted all but 2 tabs, it went down to 667 but didn't go down much lower.

the way I reckon it, if it's true that every tab is counted as a single user, mass cutting your tags should make the number go down. but it doesn't! not by a significant degree. which sure, you could say that maybe enough people are hopping back onto the site to make up the difference, but also like. that also kinda contradicts the idea that theres no users on the site now doesnt it
