"What fancy hair!" his body had grown thin aside from his head. Weak arms took the charger, putting it on the ground before standing atop it.

                                      ❝ Baymax? ❞               Now she smiles, absolutely pleased - and left with the impression               of Winnie the Pooh. The new advancement in medical technology,               the whole of the New York hospital nurses left twittering and hoping               for a Baymax - Serafina left thrilled by the new advancement in               teenage prodigies. Much like her, she would admit - after all, she was               15 years old when she left for uni.                                      ❝ Well, you have left the world wowed, certainly.                                      And all the kids in the hospital ward love you.                She offered her hand in a shake, still smiling ear to ear. ❞                                      ❝ Serafina Cordelie Havacque-Andersen. I’m the                                      Assistant Director of Nursing around the New York                                      Presbyterian Hospital. ❞

  A long-suffering sigh.

Right. Robot. And one not exactly programmed to understand anything but the science of human emotions.

"Sorry…" Tadashi scrubbed at his face. He knew that the robot couldn’t be offended, but he felt guilty for yelling at it anyway. "I know I should get some rest, you’re right, but it’s like this stuff can’t wait. The longer it takes for me to finish my work, the longer someone out there has to suffer." He goes quiet for a second, spreading out an old blueprint across his desk. "I’m going to change the world, Baymax. I’m going to make it a better place."

"Yes." He agreed, he had too, it was what he was programmed to do. To feel joy when someone was trying to better themselves, to achieve high aspirations in their lives. And it was Baymax's job to keep them healthy enough to accomplish those dreams. 

  "Well, job well done by your scans. Have a sticker!" ( he presses a finger to the robot’s soft chest, & there appears, indeed, a gold star sticker. ) “I’m, uh, actually looking for a…” ( a list appears in his hand, & he examines it through glasses manifested from nowhere. ) “Hiro Hamada? Something tells me you’d know where to find him.”

Puffy hands touch the sticker now on his chest, though he makes no move to remove it. This must mean the triangle man is happy with his care.

            Hiro’s head lolled to the side as he struggled            to focus on the important task at hand: staying            conscious. Despite Baymax’s encouragements,           he could feel himself slipping, vision going           dark around the edges and a calm numbness            washing over him, making the pain of his injuries           dull.

              ❝ I’m—I’m trying. ❞ The prodigy coughed out. ❝ It’s…                   not as easy as it seems. ❞

At times it was difficult to tell the difference between the emotions that were purely simulated, and those that felt ingrained. Baymax knew he felt something when Hiro was in peril, something it would be impossible to program.

The robot pressed a cool hand to Hiro's forehead.

  Maynard jumped a little when the robot spoke. He didn’t know what he had expected its voice to sound like, but it wasn’t that. It was very gentle, very polite. He had thought a voice like that would be reserved for people like himself and his sister, but, sure enough, there was Baymax, staring at him with his round, black eyes. And offering help? It seemed too good to be true.

Maynard wished he had the luxury of being stubborn about accepting help. Antonella was always saying how they needed to be cautious. There were too many machines designed just to trick them. There were adults that they had been told would steal them away. There were classmates who had promised to be their friends only to humiliate them later. There were thieves and liars and people who cheated at Monopoly. But Maynard wanted to believe that Baymax truly was there to help. A voice like that, so calm and friendly, couldn’t want to hurt him.

“So…” He began, swallowing hard. It was nerve-wracking, talking was. It always had been, but this was different. Baymax wasn’t like other machines. Baymax was programmed just to take care of him. It wouldn’t be that bad if he could just work up the courage to speak. He inhaled, feeling his ribcage expand to its maximum capacity, before exhaling and starting again. “I just need to tell you when I don’t feel good, and you’re gonna help me?” 

"Yes." It was what he was there for, after all. His kind voice, soft exterior, pockets on his body filled with medical equipment, all culminated in Tadashi's vision of the perfect healthcare robot. He didn't care who you were or what you had done, he was there to help you.

"If you would like, I can give you a demonstration." he didn't wait for an answer, already scanning the boy in front of him. 

Maynard's deviation from the baseline nearly made Baymax take a step backward. Chronic illness, mental illness, you name it, this boy had it. This prompted a concerned look, scan halting as he approached.

violet orbs shift in gaze to a hue of fluff and cream-colored. the cream-colored object, unobtrusive to the ominous atmosphere of his domain, is unknown to the phantom, ad further investigation is required.

He sees the thing looking at him, lenses not immediately picking up on non-organic material. Very puzzling. Was this what they called a ‘ghost’?

  " I know what they are Just up and spooked me , brobot.”

  Was this thing serious? Apparently it was. "Whoa, holy shit. There’s no need for that. I’ll just tell you what a metahuman is right now. It’s just someone with super powers. That’s all. There’s nothing wrong with me. I’m not a patient.” 

"Super powers." he repeats stiffly. He can sense the Earth in her. Telekinesis? Is he prepared to help such a deviation from the baseline?

He will certainly try.

"I shouldn’t be in love with you!"

"Knock it off!"
