                touching the tip of his sword, drawing a bit of blood from his finger,                 he shows how… surprisingly normal it is. dark red and pulsing out                 with each thud of his vessel’s heart. a grin curls at scarred lips.

        and then he slashes his sword with great grace for his large form.

( & the blade passes through his form like  a hot knife through butter — perhaps too  much so, in fact. with a corner & one arm  now separated cleanly from the rest of  his form, cipher blinks indignantly at the  false injury before reattaching the two parts.  brushing imagined dust off of what passes  as his shoulder, he turns once again to  the masked angel. )

                     "…lemme guess, you’re one of the                       spaceships from that ASTEROIDS game,                       right? never seen a spaceship with a top                       hat and bow tie, though!"

       ( although come to think of it, the child had never seen any          spaceships at all — let alone anything like the creature           that this triangle truly was — had she? sugar rush had           nothing but candy and race karts, and vanellope had            never known anything else. )

"Absolutely!" ( he agrees without a second thought — call it an experiment, of sorts, to see how long it will take this little girl to key in. ) "I'm from a newer model, they updated the game to give it some more class. Big improvement, right?"

( summoning his cane & twirling it  in a small hand, the monster whistles  appreciatively as he looks over this  sickeningly peppy candyland he's found  himself in. it's innocent, & not even in  the creepily false way — what a perfect  place to make some deals. )

' don't make me laugh, amigo. if you stay very still, i'll make sure this doesn't hurt, all right? '

hand twitching, their fingers curl around the grip of the sword at their hip and draw it out, pointing it the demon’s way. ’ i do not mind getting your blood on my hands! if you even have blood, that is. ‘

"Ehh. Not too impressed, amigo. Add some holy fire on that thing and then maybe I'll consider quaking a little, alright?"

( despite the casual joking & his entirely  unconcerned expression, the demon  knows better than to dismiss the merchant's  threat — despite his ridiculous appearance,  he's clearly more than just talk. )
