The two of them meet Gertrude exactly once, and she tells them just enough to get both of them very worried. Martin Blackwood makes a trip to the crystal shop at ask about Jane at some point and Oliver doesn’t say anything useful, Martin leaves with an unfavorable impression of the him. After Gertrude dies and Jane starts slipping into full Flesh Hive more often, Jane gets the idea to attack the Magnus Institute directly, and tells Oliver to stay behind. Oliver starts seeing the Black Tendrils around Jane when she starts explaining her plan, her last words to him are “live a good life Oliver Banks”
