a few things i love, in chronological order of how i clocked them in this scene:

fidgets/has to move while thinking

her determination! / obsession. she would rather solve the issue than let it sit while she rests. she follows through til the very end.

LOVES sharing her theories with people she trusts

has no problem manhandling the people she trusts

cares nothing for frilly, meaningless, artificial condolences, regardless of where they're from (throws JAYCE'S flowers down next to the mountain of other bouquets). gift giving is NAWT her love language

detective work is EASILY her favorite part of her job (even though that's technically not her responsibility). solving cases seems to be her favorite thing. she loves being an enforcer BECAUSE she has access to all the information that others don't have (jayce's "the hexgates???" he is not informed on the day-to-day, but caitlyn was because of her job.

methodical, organized, observant, intelligent. she's a natural detective. (i love you caitlyn)

has no problem approaching/challenging authority in the name of true justice. is unafraid of her "superiors" (marcus who is sheriff AND her boss, the council, her parents)

asks direct questions, and communicates with precise language (the "when? why?" right after realizing jayce is a councillor. she does this no bullshit, no frill communication with vi, too, in stillwater, until she realizes that vi rarely gives her a straight answer (also, that vi is maybe interested in her), so she switches tactics and joins in, eventually growing to actually cherish the fact that she doesn't have to be direct with vi. my shaylasssssssss)

again, SHE HATES APPEARANCES/FACE-SAVING/ARTIFICIALITY. she's instantly disgusted by the "ceremonial position" of being jayce's "security". if it has quotes around it, she don't want it

disgusted by her parents firing her / doing what THEY think is best for her (caitlyn hunting flashback with grayson confirms this)

has no problem delivering commands. "Get out."

her eyes dart around when she's thinking deeply

it's really not hard to see how this girl turned into "commander kiramman" in season 2! not a direct bullet-to-bullet, but:

her case-solving obsession grows to focus solely jinx. it doesn't shift. her case in season 2 is "must capture jinx", but keep in mind -- it's the exact same case as the one she is talking about here. she's been trying to prevent all these attacks (re: prevent innocent loss of life) since the beginning of her time as an enforcer. only, in s2, she now has kidnapping, her own near-murder, her mother's murder, the council's near-murder, to add to the list of crimes associated with the case. this is the biggest case/problem/puzzle of her life, and she's extremely emotional. no wonder she gets obsessed.

she won't stop until the case is solved (jinx is captured).

she lays out a methodical, detailed, plan of how she'll use her new enforcer task force.

she stands up to ambessa when she worries there is injustice, and she does so directly, using precise, direct questions and language.

she interrogates singed using the same direct communication. (later, she relishes the fact that vi is still joking with her when they reunite.)

she visits jailbroken stillwater herself because she never wanted to be a puppet, she'd prefer to always be on the ground.

her personal bounty on jinx is likely weighed down by the loss of a parent, and the anger of another (whose protective choices for cait's life were constantly resisted by caitlyn.) she probably feels remorse for the way she constantly rejected their choices, ultimately leading to her mother getting killed, when she "had the shot"

at multiple times in the second season, her eyes get dart-y/move a lot as she's processing weighty information (the iconic "THAT'S ALL IT TOOK YOU ABSOLUTE FAG").

she and vi take turns topping.

and in all, "she was doing what she thought was right", in the words of her father. yes, her rage blinded her, but ONLY IN REGARDS TO ALL THINGS JINX. she forbid the use of isolation cells, ensured the prisoners had good food, questioned why they were even there in the first place. sleeping with maddie isn't a moral/ethical decision, besides the HR implications of sleeping with a coworker. and the instant vi offered her an out from ambessa, she took it.

(her lack of regard for appearances and artificiality ......... she dgaf ab maddie i'm sorry girl 😭😭😭)

mma!bakugo who's always the first one in and the last one out on your shifts, who's got shit manners but always holds the door open for you and sometimes you swear you can catch him watching you as you go about cleaning some of the equipment but goes tomato red whenever you catch him in the act and immediately yeets off to work on drills for about half an hour before he'll glance at you again.

“what? you dont like post workout smell? weak.” he snorts, digging his knuckles into your head and giving you a doogie. “you were the one to say you liked my musk.” well, he was somewhat right. but not funk, musk and funk are strictly different things.

“id prefer if it wasnt on me, nasty ass.” he chortles, pushing himself into your body.. it wouldve been a sweet thing, him not being so so touchy when it came to anything, but— he ruined it by pressing a finger inside your belly button. “get out’ta me!”

….

he stares at you, a grin trying to crack on his face, but he tries to hold it back. “.. now what?” he asks, seeing your face as you have just realized what you said. he breaks, a stomach fueled laugh coming from him and he wraps an arm around your neck. “get out of you, huh?”

“shut up, dingbat.” you quote from a familiar show you both watched, but he pressed a wet kiss, then a lick on your face. “oh my god, katsuki—“

“yeah, scream for me, baby.” he says lowly, but you wiggle from his grasp.

he’d follow you everywhere, all throughout the house. in the morning, the second you get out of bed, hes right behind you. if you head to the bathroom, hes there too, phone in hand, leaning against the doorway while you brush your teeth or go through your skincare routine.

when you wander into the kitchen to start breakfast, hes trailing after you, barely awake but watching your every move like its the most interesting thing in the world. his hand finding its way to your waist as the other rubs the crust from his eyes, resting his chin on your shoulder. he kisses your temple and hugs you from behind while you wash up the dishes from last nights dinner, his arms wrapped around you like he never wants to let go.

its quiet the entire time, no words, just him soaking up your presence like he cant get enough of you.

and when you finally sit down to eat, hes stealing bits of food off yr plate even tho he swore up and down he wasnt hungry, and if you try to swat him away, he’ll just smirk and tease you, his fingers quick enough to snatch another bite before you can stop him. he doesnt even care what it is; you made it, so its automatically good.

later, when you’re trying to get things done, hes still there, hovering nearby. sitting on the couch with one arm thrown over the backrest, watching you move around the room. occasionally he’ll call you over just to pull you into his lap, lips brushing against your neck as he grumbles, “ ‘been movin’ around too much,, sit still for a minute.”

it doesnt matter what ur doing— laundry, cleaning, even just scrolling through your phone on the other side of the room, he needs you close, always. and at night, when you’re finally back in bed, hes pulling you into him, one leg thrown over yours, holding onto you so tight its like hes afraid youll disappear… i need him so bad

reading this again made me think of katuski who really just needs your kisses throughout the day. like, it's a part of his routine, and once he adds something to his strict regime, it becomes essential, and his whole day feels off without it.

so even when you're both mad at each other over some petty argument, he can't leave the house without a kiss goodbye. he'll grumble and come up to you while you're on your laptop, blatantly ignoring him.

he stands there, grinding his teeth, as he glares down at you. you look ahead, still not sparing him a glance, and blink a few times in annoyance when he stays silent for a whole 30 seconds.

"can i help you?" your voice is tight, as you roll your eyes.

"i'm leavin."

"okay?" you answer, clipped, silently and secretly cursing at yourself for pushing him away when you know what he wants (it's what you want too). you're just too stubborn, sometimes more than him.

he shifts on his feet. "i'm leaving." his voice is quiet, slightly timid, but still stiff. you know he's pouting internally.

his eyes are burning onto your face with how hard he's staring, a silent demand (plea) in his gaze and presence.

you glance up at him and feel your resolve cracking, no matter how much you want to grab the pieces and jam them back together to stand your ground.

you manage to glare at him for a solid five seconds before you look away and give in. but you're still stubborn about the way you do.

"i'm not getting up." you still keep your gaze away from him, because you know if you do, you'll want to give in even further and wrap yourself around him like a koala, like a moth to a flame.

he responds like a petulant child needing to get the last word in as he bends down, "didn't say you had to."

his eyes glance over your face and he bites his tongue to not say anything snarky to make you change your mind. his hand lightly tilts your head and he presses his lips against yours sweetly, despite the tension (that's slowly dissipating) between you two.

he gives you a sweet, long kiss, it's an apology, a reminder that he loves you, and a goodbye to keep him going for the rest of the day.

your hand comes up to rest on his that's still holding you in place, his thumb absentmindedly running light circles on your cheek. you can practically feel yourself getting lighter, looser.

when he pulls away, you can almost feel the cord of tension wanting to pull the two of you together again for another kiss, but you both fight it. he takes his time letting his hand slide away from you and the both of you stare into each others eyes for a few seconds before he clears his throat.

"i'll see you." his voice is quieter than before, barely a whisper.

you lick your lips and his eyes catch onto the motion. "be safe."

he stands up straight and nods slightly. "always."

and okay, you won't admit it but maybe, you needed the kiss just as much as him. it is a part of your routine after all.

"Why is your fit like that? elephant ahh fit"

"huh? but that's the theme?" you look at him confusingly...

He looks at you with a judging look, laughing lightly as he held a small grin "The theme was 'elegant' dumbass"

Oh. You look back at the screen to double check the theme, it was indeed 'elegant'. He laughs boisterously and u hurriedly click on the chat box to explain the situation so u wont lose ur stars.

Katsuki loves making a spoil brat out of you. so when you caught sight of a beautiful pair of Louis V sneakers, your gaze lingering a moment too long as you admired the sleek design and color, and tore your eyes away, already dismissing them as too pricey.

he noticed. he watched the way your eyes sparkled at them, not the price tags, and the tiny smile you couldn't quite suppress, that made him feel like a giddy lovesick boy again. he'd caught onto this pattern the first few times he took you out, and by now, he knew exactly what to do.

"don't want 'em?" he asked, looking at the little sparkle in your eyes.

"just thought they were cute, is all."

he side eyed you, but didn't answer.

"kats? where're you going?" you followed behind him.

"just looking around for somethin'," he muttered, waving you off.

so you wandered around the store a little more too, distracted by a few more items that caught your eye. there was this cute little handbag, a gorgeous scarf, and a bracelet that you imagined would look nice for a night out. you were lingering over each item a little longer than you meant to.

"kats! look, they have this purse in black!" you called, holding it up as he looked your way, then placed it back in it's position on display.

after a few minutes, he walked up to you and leaned over your shoulder, "got everything?" he rasped with a smirk, knowing full well you didn't.

"hmm?" you looked up at him. with that same stupid smile plastered on your face, as you were just happy about getting to spend time with your boyfriend.

"nothin'." he smirked. and made his way back to the cashier counter. as you passed the cashier, they bagged up the scarf, bracelet, and purse you'd also been staring at...

"Katsuki!" you whispered, pulling him down so you could reach his ear, "what's all this?"

"everything my girlfriend wants..." he replied, shrugging as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"I didn't tell you if I wanted anything..." you raised a brow, looking between him and cashier.

"didn't have to." he shrugged again, "saw ya' lookin' at 'em."

"you—... you can't just buy everything I look at..." you protested, as your cheeks flushed.

Katsuki smirked, leaning down again to murmur in your ear, "watch me."
