another lesson I learned from the transmasc voices project charade is I really don't care for people who are obsessed with rooting out and punishing Abusers to the extent that they don't listen to or care to properly support survivors, even if they are directly going against the survivor's wishes
there's a lot to be said about how abuse will convince us that things are ok and train us to protect our abusers, but there's a difference between understanding and accounting for this and just plain condescending to and disregarding a survivor's words. we aren't helpless babies whose words you can rewrite to fit whatever narrative you want to believe in. survivor support is not about getting to be the knight who slays the dragon and saves the damsel

its something thats infuriated me so much, especially in recent days, how me being a survivor of CSA and SA and so much more is thrown out the window the minute I disagree with the hate mob mentality. As though I must not be a REAL survivor if I dont want to see everyone who is even vaguely associated with abuse drawn and quartered! And thats me being generous there, a solid chunk of the hate mobs we see are just targetting transfems and fabricating "abuse evidence" of them out of spite.
Idk, its outright sickening to me how people only want me to be a victim as a prop and not a survivor as a human. And yes I am referring to my recent ISFF support and the hate it brought me! Something that I realised when I first started getting more into transfeminism that really made it click for me is that even when people say "trans women are women", they rarely actually mean that. Even a lot of trans women don't fully believe it when they say it, even if they don't realise.
We're still expected to act like a third gender. Sure you fall more into the group of "woman" than the average born male but a lot of the time there's still an implicit understanding that you are to not push too hard on being a real woman. If you talk about the misogyny you face, the ways you enjoy engaging with womanhood, or start happily taking up space, people will often get weirded out. They'll look at you funny, or they may verbalise disgust. A trans woman might be a woman, but it gets awkward when it becomes apparent that the woman in question genuinely believes it to be true and doesn't just want to be humoured.
I fell into this trap for a long time. I would feel uncomfortable even calling myself a woman sincerely because it felt like I was doing something wrong. I was encroaching. I was pushing my luck with what was acceptable for a pseudo-woman to do. If you are a trans woman who feels like this, like you're a separate category of person than just a plain woman, you have to realise something. If your joy makes people disgusted or uncomfortable, that's their problem. Make them uncomfortable, make them squirm (assuming it's physically safe of course). You owe these people nothing. You are a woman, full stop. Embracing that fact without shame or asterisks does wonders for your self esteem.
Once you notice how much straight people love ageplay youāll never unclench your jaw from thinking abt how much trans women are demonized for it
putting everyone in time out until they can stop responding to increasingly transmisogynistic public bathroom laws with "and this is extra bad because it will impact cis women who don't fit traditional standards of femininity too!!"

Tried to go to a queer event in my (relatively remote) area only to be the only transfem around and when i asked if that was normal one of the attendants (trans man) there said that there was occasionally a girl who would show up but she was "kind of a bitch" and that "for some reason" they really only had TME regulars
