i wonder how the start menu in kh4 will look like ... so far in every numbered game, the menu art always features sora with his feet in the ocean water like this (from left to right: kh1, kh2, and kh3) (not counting kh1 and kh2 final mix bc those got new menu art, these are from the original releases)
i remember someone pointed out that hes gradually going deeper in with each new release ... i dont think kh4 will end up with him inside the ocean itself but it makes me really curious. theres probably some metaphor to it but it's not coming to me currently. maybe smth abt him literally going off the deep end?
i also noticed hes always biting on something in these artworks - a fishbone in kh1 (i suppose to symbolize how he was just a simple island boy who thrusted into a grander fate out of nowhere), sea salt ice cream in kh2 (very obvious why) and the paopu fruit in kh3 (probably bc his relationship with kairi was more emphasized here + referencing that whole paopu business in kh1). theyre all sea-related too (fish, sea salt, and well the paopu is specifically native to destiny isles but still)
i hope nomura still keeps up with this trend bc i think it's really cool and very emblematic of both kh's and sora's humble beginnings :) maybe we'll see him biting on um ... a starfish. thats not edible but i cant think of anything else
