“Ah..well I..um…not very good with this sort of thing. But that’s basically it.. It can get pretty complicated though..some people are picky or get upset if you don’t do something specific for them..” He rubbed the back of his neck, looking up at the other, a bit surprised by the sudden question from him. “It’s usually the more sought after day to confess ones feelings..new or old?”

“Huh. I guess that last part makes more sense.” Sideswipe crossed his arms, head tilted thoughtfully. “Seemed weird there was just one day for givin’ gifts or whatever.” Sitting on a nearby rock, he glanced down at Ryou again. “You ever confessed to anybody?”

“I..well..no, I mean..too busy to get to like anyone..want to get more friends..” He clears his throat, feeling just the slightest bit of nervousness and embarrassment over such an admission to the bot. Ryou clearing his throat before looking back up at Sideswipe with a brow lifted. “Thinking of confessing to anyone today?”

He shook his head. “Nah. All I’ve got is my team, and they’re more like friends or family.” Sideswipe rested his elbows on his knees, considering something. “…I dunno that I’ve ever liked any bot that way. I mean, there’s some who I think are really cool, I like workin’ with ‘em and hearin’ ‘em say good stuff about me, but I don’t think that really counts.”

“Ah..well I guess that is it then, both gonna be alone today.” Save for now when they were currently enjoying one anothers company. Sighing softly as he thought about anyone he might want to give a valentine gift too or confess.. Just shaking his head and lying on his back, eyes drifting closed. “Not that it is a bad thing, just not ready for it…don’t need to be with someone to be happy.”

“That’s true.” Sideswipe was quiet for a moment, thinking again. “So is it just for romantic stuff? ‘Cause that sounds pretty limiting. I mean, if it’s a day to do somethin’ for people or bots you care about, then friends count too, right?” He didn’t have an amanti - honestly, he wasn’t even sure he had an amica - but maybe he could do something for his team. Especially Bee, since the older bot liked Earth and its customs so much.

“Pretty much, mean some friends give gifts but it’s not the tradition for the holiday.” He sighs and just wonders what one would get an Autobot for valentine’s day. The thought alone making him laugh a little bit..peering at him as he begins to roll on his side a bit to watch him now. “Holidays are usually pretty specific, except for Christmas..that one is for giving gifts to people you like and are close too..”

“Oh, uh, other Ricks,” he answered sheepishly. He forget he wasn’t on the Citadel right now. “It’s…kind of a long story, never mind…”

He took the hand shaking it warmly. It was kind of nice just being called “Rick” without other Ricks there to get mixed up with. He hadn’t been called by his real name in a long time.

Giving a mild squeeze to the others hand he lets his smile widen, growing a bit more warm before he lowers his hand away from the others. “So are you on shift then?” The teen let that curious expression show again, peering at him with those amber colored eyes. “Would like to eat lunch with you if you’re on break...aha.” @rookiecoprick

“Oh, uh, other Ricks,” he answered sheepishly. He forget he wasn’t on the Citadel right now. “It’s…kind of a long story, never mind…”

“Ah....well, it’s a class trip but I kind of got separated from them..” He felt a bit of a smile form on his face. “Well, that was a bit of my fault..I wanted to buy some books while I was out..” He cleared his throat a bit though, trying to think of how to steer off of that subject before it was asked about. “It’s..an honor to meet the champion of Unova though because of my wandering off..”
