Bullet Journaling for School
I have been getting a lot of asks about school pages, and I’m ready to share with you the best ways to use your journals for keeping up with your work, tests, and deadlines. Just in time for the school season too!
1. Get the Right Supplies
Invest in a good journal that works for you. Make sure you get the one that is the right size to carry around from class to class. You don’t want to get one that is too small for fun spreads or too large to fit comfortably in your bag or arms.
Pens, highlighters, post-its, tabs, tapes. All things you could use for your journal, but again, make sure they are right for you. Depending upon your journal you might not even want highlighters or pens. Colored pencils work just as aesthetically.
Creating a future log for your school journal is a must! This will help you with getting ready and plan for exams, essays, important days, homework, and for sports. There are a variety of layouts for this page, but here is my last one.
Okay, so I’m not currently home where I can show you this in an actual journal. Sorry that it’s on copy paper! But anyhow, you get the idea. A simple calendar spread with icons, monthly goals, and notes for the month. In the icons, I added deadlines, important days, tests/quizzes, essays, practice/game, club, and work. (None of the events I wrote on here are real, this was just an idea to show you how to use it for a school journal.)
I put seven boxes for each day and added both a notes section and a water intake tracker. It’s super important to stay hydrated! Keep those pretty little brains sparkly.
I don’t have a picture for this, but I know many people enjoy adding pages for each day. Especially for those in college or away at boarding schools because the workload is just a bit more. You can add daily habit trackers, daily tasks, and notes for each day.
So, don’t laugh, but I made up a notes page to give you an idea of how you could do notes in a bullet journal. Yes, many more google searches could give you a million better looking notes in bullet journals. Also, you can add tabs to your journals for different classes so your notes don’t get mixed up.
This is actually a little bit like how I had my college schedule set up. Although, I used an app that is no longer on the app store to keep track of my classes. This is kind of how the app was set up. Remember to put the rooms of your classes! So important if you want to not make a fool of yourself by walking into the wrong class.
If you’re new to the school or university, keeping a map of your school in your journal is very handy. Most schools have their maps available online or in the main office. If they are online, you have a better chance of scaling it down and printing it the right size for your journal pages.
This one I’m kind of on the fence about. Yes, it’s good to have your phone number, email, and name in the journal, but I wouldn’t put anything more than that. No addresses. There are some crazy people out there. This is only for in the case you leave it someplace and have lost it.
