It is a humid night. Full of rumbling on the horizon, dazzling flashes, mighty crashes. There is, strangely, little difference between the thunder of below and the thunder of above, but the air here is sweltering with something sacred — charged and quavering with a peal of Godsong from a passing divinity. In the wake of their breathtaking presence, Rauru feels revitalised — heartened — in a way things haven't been able to stoke from him in so very long. "Sister," he whispers in their tongue. He turns to her, something awed and soft lining the contours of his features. Beneath that deific radiance of the dragon's light, he makes a request he's asked of her over and over in their lives together, ever since he learnt that he could. "Will you dance to my song?"

Before he even questions, she has already risen to her feet, beckoned to the storm by the resonance in the skies and the gold that arcs across the gray. The rainfall pelts her skin and the wind is turbulent—but she takes no mind to how the elements dishevel and return her to be one with the cosmos. It is a familiar, looming, yet comforting presence even on the surface, a baleful reminder that they are only mortal, even on the foreign land below their feet, as it continues to billow in the heavens above.

“Of course,” a faint smile eched on her face, azure eyes glinting with every flash that lights the sky. She speaks and laughs so tenderly that the roar almost drowns her words. “I am not one to deny your request, dear brother. It has been a while, has it not?”

The amount of times Aluhk had interacted with Mineru were far and few between. Spotting her at ceremonies from afar. When the triforce had revealed itself to him she'd been there as well. There were few other instances he could think of.

When he'd been asked to go with the king's sister, albeit a little bit later than when she'd left, the answer of course had been yes. Aluhk doesn't mean to be as quiet as he is, steps silent upon the stone as he steps into the chamber, and for a moment he just observes. The hylian stands carefully off to the side, silently at attention.

"I don't mean to presume…" he interjects softly, responding to the question left hanging in the air. "To my knowledge though, I don't believe he was aware."

It was questionable if there were any living being who had been. Aluhk wasn't sure where t even begin in trying to find out when or how this... contraption had been made. It seemed to him far too advanced to understand. More than that though, he thought maybe it wasn't his place to try and understand it.

A hum, mouth curling into a smile as she reflexively answers back, voice echoing on the walls despite her gentle voice. “I wouldn't be surprised. If I was not, then I doubt he would be as well.”

Silence fills the room once more. Mineru continues to study the object, one hand ghosting over the cool stone, muttering more hypothesizes under her breath―before she finally turns around, eyes finally on the other person in the chamber, content with her inspection ( for now ). Mirth was in her gaze, truly captivated at the sight presented to her, although her expression remained composed.

“My apologies―I did not notice your arrival.” She raises a hand over the tear-shaped stone over her chest, bowing her head down in greeting. Quite witless of her, she thinks momentarily, to be so engrossed to ignore her surroundings. “I was not expecting company.”

“I presume you have been asked to accompany me here?” There were no bile in her words, merely curious as to who would send someone her way ( although she'd reckon she already knew ), not often did someone request to assist her, after all.

She doesn't know what to say, at first. She stares with wide eyes, a slight tremor shaking her fingers before she takes Mineru's hands in her own. She had seen this spirit form only once before. The memory pains her. That was intended to be the last time they ever saw each other.

But now... but here... Zelda can feel her chest swelling with everything, blinking back the tears that threaten to fall. She takes a few deep breaths, composing herself.

"Yes, I've returned to Hyrule. I'm home and- oh, Mineru, I'm so sorry, I know you'd said it was forbidden! It worked, and the Demon King, he's-"

The events from the past few days had been a whirl. She didn't know if Mineru had seen it. As quickly as she'd started speaking, the energy seemed to drain away from her.

Instinctively, Mineru grips her hands tighter, refusing to let go—as though proving to herself once more that this was true and real, this was no dream and Zelda had truly, truly returned.

‘I cannot believe how foolish you were to. But you were brave. I couldn't stop you. I apologize I couldn't be of any more help. And, oh, how I worried for you―’, all feelings left unspoken, simply looking down as she grasps even tighter and silence falls upon the two of them. For once in her lifetime, she couldn't find the words to adequately express the turmoil of emotions that constricted her heart.

“I witnessed,” she finally settles on responding, voice threatening to waver. “We all witnessed the Demon King's fall.”

Hesitantly, she lifts a hand away to settle on the princess's shoulder, giving it a light squeeze, like she had seen her brother do. A soft yet pained smile paints her face once she looks up to face her again, eyes glimmering with unshed tears. “There is no need to apologize, Zelda, you did well. I—we, Sonia and Rauru... I'm sure they're proud of you.”

She circles around the mechanism, closely observing from every angle. Trained eyes dart all over while a hand rests under her chin, expression tense and deep in thought. While Mineru considered herself to be well versed in various forms of technology and magic, this, however, was utterly new and facinating. Never had she witnessed such a thing, and the Zonai were no stranger to complex, odd and specific creations, but a statis chamber, to specifically hold someone alive...?

The jade coloring was familiar, the dull green glow a comforting light―but it had only raised more questions than answers for her liking. Who had even created such a contraption? Was it even made by her people? It must have been, but if so, it must have been a well-kept secret, one lost to time, until now.

“I―How interesting...” She utters, mostly to herself, too focused to notice to any guests that may have walked in on her examination. “Was Rauru aware of such a thing...?”

Evening sunlight freckles her translucent skin as she's sat awkwardly next to her assembled body—Link had decided to pause their travels to cook a few dishes under a patch of trees. Odd, is what she would describe it as; being accustomed to unwinding between travelling and tribulation was foreign to her ( and she barely gave herself the time to rest to begin with ) but with every subsequent time the knight chose to delay, whether it be because of cooking, like now, or helping someone in need, Mineru came to appriciate the mundane.

Gazing up at the sky alight in shades of crimson and orange, it never came to her that she missed Hyrule. Different the surface may be from what she remembers, the sky remained relatively the same in spite of ruin, reminding her of bittersweet, yet sentimental, memories as she travelled alongside him.

The smell of sauteed mushrooms and meat flood her senses, washing away any thoughts to nothing. A moment of peace. But before she was able to close her eyes and relish: a flicker of movement above catches her eye. Dread constricts her chest, before the gears in her brain click; though that doesn't ease away how her heart chokes. It stole her breath, in both awe and realization. That must be—

“―Zelda.” Her voice is no louder than a whisper, subconsciously rising to her feet and drifting closer to stare. The dragon drifts languidly across the sky, an ethereal streak of white and gold. Everything is silent but the passing breeze that rises as she crosses above, holding a clenched fist over her heart. “Oh, Zelda...”
