Sapphic fans are all going private on twitter or deleting their accounts cause they started to receive countless death threats and are scared of getting doxxed. Do you see how fucking insane this is. Yesterday I woke up to Taylor saying James was a boy and let me tell you, I didn’t fucking care, cause it’s fine if that’s what was on her mind while creating the song but I’ll keep on interpreting the song however I want to and keep on relating to it the way I do. What made me feel scared, unwelcomed and terrified was the fan reactions and all the shit people (mostly men, you see) said about it. There’s a whole thread, dm me if you weren’t around to see it and want me to send it to you. I felt horrible all day long. Now I wake up and I see that my mutuals and friends have been sent awful messages, attacks and all those things from people in this fandom. The fact that it’s the non sapphics in the fandom attacking sapphics makes my blood boil, and if you’re staying silent right now a big fuck you to you. This fandom has always been like this and I’m so sick of it. I’m sick of crying because of shit I see online I’m sick of feeling unsafe in a space where I’m just supposed to have fun. And I’m sick of seeing straight people celebrating shit against us like they’re the ones who are being oppressed in real life. You better start speaking on this and stand with sapphic people in this fandom.

Hello, I don't have many followers so I can't reach anyone but I hope I can through you- I major in cryptography, and I can reassure you by saying most online doxxing isn't done through IP addresses as they're done by teens with no clue how it works, they do it by looking through your whole accounts searching keywords that might give them info on your identity, AND looking for when you linked your social medias. So if you've ever mentioned your IG, SC, FB usernames-

- delete it all. Change your Twitter/Tumblr usernames and don't mention your past ones so they cannot go through archive websites to find anything, and delete ANY tweet mentioning your country, language, parents, school level, health issues, homeworks- these are the most telling clues on your identity. And of course, deactivate or private your accounts if you are really scared. Please stay safe.

ADDING- if scared of skilled doxxing, use a VPN (instead on your computer, NOT from your browser) and log in and log out with it on at least 4 times, then turn it off while logged in. It's the usual safety demarch for blogging platforms like Tumble and Blogspot.

I saw a couple posts about how invisible string is inspired by the soulmate AU trope you guys are literally killing me. NO!!!! internet fanfiction culture didn’t invent this concept.

the string/thread of fate is an ancient Chinese mythology concept that’s been around for thousands of years and is still influential in China and other East Asian countries. the basic idea is there’s an invisible red thread wrapped around the ankles or fingers (varies between countries) of two people destined to be together in some way (more often than not romantic), and the assignment of those soulmates is ruled by the Chinese matchmaker deity Yue Lao.

this is purely a massive part of ancient Chinese culture and you should acknowledge it as such. it’s not some recent internet fad.
