Mark your calendars for Zutara Week 2026! The big event will be held from August 9 - August 15!
Thank you @fabdante for offering their art for this year's event graphics!
Discord | Instagram | Twitter, and Bluesky!
Hello. I'm re-reading Clothe Me in Seasons, Dress Me in Snow and I have to ask, is Azula narrating the whole thing? Because throughout the fic the narrator sometimes reffers to Zuko as Zuzu.
Hi there! Nope, it's all from Zuko's point of view! When he refers to himself as Zuzu, it's really just to show that he has internalized her criticism of him. As a psychologist, I see this a lot: people will internalize the voices of the people around them (especially when they're young) and then these messages show up in their inner dialog. Like if my mom used to nag at me for not picking up my clothes, I might then grow up to nag at myself the same way if I see I left clothes on the floor. In Zuko's case, I think this would come up in moments when he's feeling especially insecure or frustrated with himself. Hope that helps, and thanks for reading!!
Wtf?! 😂
@sokkastyles

Hey, I've come here from having just finished Lilacs and Lilypads and it's honestly one of the best pieces of writing I have ever read in my entire life. Your characterisation is incredible and you have such a deep understanding of what I think the original characters were meant to be. I know it's probably unlikely so many years later, but I was wondering if you would ever finish the story?
Thank you so much! It's funny you should ask, I was just thinking about that story the other day. I actually have about 8k words done for that final chapter, I just need to finish it! During the writing of that story I got really derailed by real life: I was sick for like a year and a half which drained my energy and killed my muse, then I started dating this amazing person which was a whirlwind and got married last year. I know it's been forever since I updated, but I still want to finish it! Maybe I'll go grab my laptop and see where I left off... Either way, thank you for reminding me that people are still interested in the ending, I hope to give you closure at some point!
Clothe me in seasons, dress me in snow changed my life btw aiehehehehhe. I literally reread it at least once a year. And I love a canon compliant sad ending which doesn’t seem to be popular within the fandom so thank you b x
Aww, thank you! I'm always grateful to hear that my stories are memorable, or have a lasting impact. That story is special to me, so I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🥰
One of the weirder choices the netflix AtLA show made was change the story of Kya's death. In the original, Katara does not see her mother die. She sees her in the tent with Yan Rha. Her mother tells Katara to go get her dad, so she does, and by the time she returns her mother is dead. Katara has NO IDEA that her mother sacrificed herself specifically for her, just that her mother died in a raid. Didn't even make the connection about finding the last waterbender. In the netflix version, Katara is IN THE ROOM AND WATERBENDS which prompts her mom to lie and then get fried in front of Katara. Like, it's directly Katara's fault in that scene, which would likely produce immense guilt that's not present in the OG. Also, Katara not knowing why her mother was killed leads to one of the most powerful scenes in the show, where she learns the truth and then stops the rain. I can't fathom why they would change this.
In the new AtLA adaptation, apparently the southern water tribe is called Wolf Cove?? Just wolf? Not wolfbat? Not wolfbear, or wolfadillo, or wolfskunk or something? Who named this shit?
;) Save the dates!

It’s not quite a transcript, but here’s the main points:
BetterHelp is selling your mental health information to pinterest, snapchat and facebook.
BetterHelp is paying its therapists very little - including getting paid per word WITH A CAP. At some point they stop paying for another word. Which puts a therapist in a bind: should they keep doing their work for free or should they withdraw support from someone that needs it?
BetterHelp is creating the expectation that help is available at all time. Which sounds great, but one of the points of therapy is to create self-reliance. Also: therapists need boundaries too!
BetterHelp is funded by billionaires and millionaires who care primarily about turning a profit for their investors. Not about the therapists. Or the patients/clients.
So: do not use Better Help, but look for another source.
reblog this with how you watched avatar: the last airbender for the first time in the tags. i watched the first few episodes at my friend’s house and found the rest of the episodes on vimeo.
Would you follow me into a world where reason doesn't pertain?~
I have a sort of "playlist obession" and I couldn't stop thinking about the fanfiction Clothe me in seasons, dress my in snow by @sadladybug
So, I've made a playlist based on the story, that follows more or less the storyline and the chapters - or, at least, my impressions about it (and how it absolutely broke my heart. Seriously, I can't stop thinking about that fanfic).
It all started when I came through The Lumineers' song Cleopatra and the lyrics: "But I was late for this, late for that, late for the love of my life" and then I found myself with a whole playlist.
The icon is by the amazing @treycain03
This is amazing! I can't wait to listen to it! I don't know if you want to add this or not, but I can't think of that fic without thinking of "Fourth of July" by Sufjan Stevens. I listened to that on repeat when I wrote the final scenes (Zuko and Katara on the beach). Makes me emotional everytime. Anyway, I'm so glad you tagged me in this! Thank you!

I love this parallel.
EDIT: …just realized i forgot the veil on her hat.
I've made the HUGE mistake of reading Lilacs and Lily Pads + Bones first and then Clothe me in seasons, dress me in snow. Do you have any idea of how damaged my heart is right now? I've been crying for two days. Despite my broken heart, I loved your stories so much and reading them is all I've been doing these days. Your style is incredible, the characterizations are amazing (gosh, your Katara is a blessing) and I think I'm going to read everything you wrote (and cry my eyes out for sure).
Oh no! That's definitely the reverse order to read them if you want to end on a happy note! Clothe Me in Seasons is major heartache. I'm sorry to have made you sad, but I'm charmed that you let me know how much you like my stories! Thank you for reading, and for making this Zutarian's day a little brighter!
