Hiatus - possibly discontinue
I don't know yet but I might or might not discontinue this AU [even though I just started this not to long ago >> but oh well.] Yeah~ I honestly don't have motivation to continue writing this AU bit from time to time I will continue drawing my characters along with some that have not made an appearance or were introduce to ya. So far I have my AU's Muffet drawn and everything. "Papyrus" and many others are in progress of either being digitalize or in the process of getting the character design how I want them to be appear as. Until then, this AU will be on a long haitus - hope you all understand my decision for this.I
Zak's little brother, haven't found a name for him but here is a rough draft of what he looks like. Ignore the little snip it on the bottom right. Skelly boy | SacriTale AU: @blueghosty

Also if there anything I need to change or need to fix let me know in the ask box or in the comments below the chapter. See ya later and remember there is a saying here in SacriTale, that is'What are you willing to sacrifice for those you care for, if you have the power to do so?â
Chapter 4 - donât know what to name this chapter
âe-ek-ekh-o ekho~ Ekh!! Ekho!â the small child giggles throwing his arms in the air as he spoke the name of his companion, as his companion and his parents join in his infectious laughter.
âThatâs correct! Arenât you a smart little monster and you're only 5 months old, I'm so proud of my little genius.â
âWell, he does take after me seeing how I am the head royal scientist.â The said scientist gloat.
âUh-huh, so youâre saying I'm not smart enough for him to gain my intelligence?â Gaster
stood shocked and fumbles with his words as he tries to fix his mistake but only receives a smug smirk from his wife, Lucia. âI...ugh...n-no...um...love you~â
âPfft, nice save ya dingus.â She stood and walked over to him placing a kiss on his cheekbone but than grabbed the front of his turtleneck sweater.âBut insult my intelligence again and you won't be so lucky next time, dear~â Â She sneered at him as snickers could be heard in the background at his demised. His eye sockets moved over to the voice giving a death glare to the blue flower before returning to meet his wifeâs eye sockets, gulping and clearing nonexisting throat.
âI never meant for it to sound like an insult, just-â She cut him off with her giggles than looking at her dumbfounded.
âIâm just messing with ya Dings, donât take it so faint to the soul - You know I would never harm ya for that, besides I knew you didnât mean anything ill about me.â
âOh...hehe...right...ahem...Azula, how are you feeling now from our previous tests?â The blue flower turned their attention from the small skeleton child on over to the Royal Scientist.
âIâm feeling just fine although I did find something interesting when you were testing the strength of my vines and turns out that I am able to conjure more than the two you see.â
As she conjures five more vines, calmly thrashing around as the child continued to make babbled noises along with making grabbing hands at the vines. The flower gently grabs the infant and makes different shapes of animals she remembered seeing in a book. The child continues to laugh and speak the language of only infants can understand but not long after, that all but the one vine, which was holding the child, were severed causing the hybrid to hiss in pain as some of the test tubes, that were left out in the open, to break from the impact. The small child cried due to the sudden noise and his friendâs cry of pain had frightened him to tears. The two skeletons heard the pained hiss and glass breaking seeing the damages that had happened, thinking it was an attack from a human but was really their son. He was able to conjure some bone attacks aiming in random directions but was perfectly aimed at the vines and glass tubes.
âEkho!â
âAzula are you alright?!â The mother rushed over to the two, taking the child from the hybridâs grasp to fully examine her. The hybrid dismisses the female skeleton's worries by smiling, signaling she is fine but could See the pain look in the hybridâs pupil-less eyes, she then turned to her child and back. âSans, sweetie, did-did you do that? Summoning those bones attacks?â Lucia was in a daze but was soon brought back to reality as the hybrid tried to muffled their painful cries as to not alert the infant.
âI-I-Iâm fine Sansy, s-see?â The hybrid moved her good vine around although her movements were stiff like Gaster trying to dance. âGood a-as new-w.â they gave a small smile and a nervous laugh but the infant did not laugh nor did his cries stop but instead made an effort to hug the hybrid.
âHush now child, no need to cry Don't you worry, your sweet little head For I only wish to see you smile So - please dry those tears away. Let me hold you close to my heart And allow my warmth erase your worries. What pains me more Is to see you shatter before me. So heed my words, when I say "Don't you cry, my child For I am here To ease your sorrows, For I am forever within your heart~"
Let my soul be your guide show
How much you mean to me...
Hear my voice so it may guide you to glory~ This lullaby will lead you to a peaceful slumber, No nightmare shall ever haunt you, For I shall forever by in your dreams-
Protecting you from the past mistakes.. So please my child, don't you cry For I~ love you,
With all my heart
The childâs movements stop and his crying had ceased as he heard the hybrid sang her song for him. âI really am okay, just need to rest is all but...if you wish to help then perhaps you can ask your father, for the healing water he creates for me.â after hearing this he looked straight up at his father with that puppy dog eyes with crocodile tears that no monster in the underground could resist.
âdada! Shans help Ehko, pwease?â He said with a hopeful glint in his little eye sockets before he started to sniffle, trying to wipe his tears away. Lucia looks up at Gaster as well motioning him to let their son do so in order to ease the child's guilt, in which, caused the royal scientist to sigh but end with a smile on his skull.
âVery well my son, but please go easy when pouring it into her pot and as for you Azula, while you are under recovering - all further research shall be put on hold as you will be living with us from now on. Don't want your condition to worsen while stuck in the lab without supervision, but then again only I and the king know about you being here.â He mumbled the last part under his breath before passing the vial over to his son and wife.
âHeh, although...I a-appreciate the offer...but I much rather not intrude into your home and your familyâs personal life.â She shudders as the liquid is poor into her pot as the substance has been cold to the touch on her roots.
âNonsense, you were bound to live with us anyways, just the matter of finishing your side of Sansâ room for your arrival.â Is he being serious, there is no way he can be kidding about this and if he was he would be saying some kind of punchline to whatever joke or jape he might have planned. There was absolutely no clear sign that he was joking but in fact serious on this matter. âI can tell you are waiting for some kind of joke or pun in this matter but I am being serious, we did plan to have you live with us sooner than now. Of course, that was before Lucia was pregnant until she made that announcement, I had my mind wrapped around preparing for our first child and for that I do apologize that we told you this later than we attended too.â
âHe is right Azula when I was first found out I was 4 months pregnant, I was ecstatic - well even more ecstatic since that's when we had just finished building the extra room for ya. But then we were faced with a predicament that we did not know what to do and we are deeply sorry it took us this long.â Their faces showed it all - guilt, sadness, and disappointment towards themselves. Â This is what it feels like to have others care for you, I guess no matter where I am - my family will always grow and be there for me.
âI know this is all sudden for you but we do care, even if it seems that we donât because of the test or the fact we have a child. To me - to us, you are not a test subject nor a research specimen but a member of this family.â Hearing those words had warmed the hybridâs soul, at first the hybrid was feeling a little out of place seeing the three interact as a family. Although she sometimes wishes to see her mother and father again but knew she would not find them for as their time had long come months after she left.
âShans share rwoom with Ehko, like speepover evweyday!â The childâs enthusiasm was quite contagious causing the hybrid to giggle and smile down at the small child. âEhko can pway with shans evweyday and eat foods together too!â She bent down to the childâs level and nuzzled his cheekbone causing him to squeal with delight from how ticklish her petals were on his skull.
âYouâre too cute for your own good, you know that Sansy.â The hybrid giggles along with the child as the mother of the child ended up taking photos of her son and the hybrid gigglingÂ
Chapter 3: New Life
Three and a half months later, Lucia was omitted to the small hospital that was built in the lab. As Gaster was with Lucia helping her through the âlabor painâ from what she was experiencing from my perspective. While she was giving birth I was left alone in Gasterâs office that was on the other side of the laboratory, far from the others. I felt a shiver go down my stem, it was odd almost painful, although we flowers do feel pain when being broken or damaged from being crushed in any way. This pain was like no pain any of my kind has gone through almost as if every part of my body was being pulled, stretch, and squished all at once, is this because of the samples of the human souls I had absorbed before?
The pain continues to increase causing me to thrash around on in my pot, pushing myself off of the desk. The pain was far more excruciating once I hit the ground, it was now like being beat to a bloody pulp. Then it stop, I couldn't not feel anything not a single vein in my stem, my leaves, or my petals; everything was starting to fade. I heard a gasp along with panicking mumbles in the distance, I couldn't tell who it was but I knew it was Gaster when I saw a white face come into view. I feel my body slowly becoming numb as the dark spots overtake my vision. Suddenly, I'm lifted into a warm and sturdy pair of arms; not long after I let my body go completely limp in his grasp.
âYou canât give up just yet, There are others who care about youâ
A distant voice could be heard all around You.
âYou can do this, we know you can because we believe in youâ
Another voice accompanied the first.
âThere is someone who has yet to meet and will need your help.â
A third voice making their self-known.
âSo stay strong friend!â
They shout together, as one.
â§Their kind and encouraging words fill you with a new found feeling.â§
âhmm...ugh...w-what happenedâ I opened my eyes to see a relief and worried Gaster. What happened to me! âG-Gaster...I can see you, like see you.â I said with fear as my voice cracked a bit, but it did not sound like my normal echoed high pitch voice. Instead, it sounded less high pitch and more like it was almost child-like. âWha-what happened to me and why do I sound like this?!â
âMmm...it seems you have gone through some sort of transformation, I would have to do some tests to see what was or triggered this change of yours. Normally echo flowers have never gone through anything like this, at least from my knowledge. From what I can tell you is that your appearance changed, well it is best if you see for yourself.â He held up a mirror facing me, there I see white pupil-less eyes and a faint thin line, I suppose that is supposed to be my mouth. What caught my attention the most were the two vine-like tentacles, I can't believe this is what I have become now. I used my left vine? Tentacle? to grab the mirror and bring it closer to my bud, seeing my reflection my actual reflection.
My reflection then fades to an adult human female, she smiled at me and was speaking to me but I could not hear a single sound of what she is saying. Then she vanishes and my reflection was back but then I remember back when I was passed out. âThere is someone who you have yet to meet and needs your help,â is she the one who needs help? How do I have to meet her? So many questions running through my head. Who was she? Why did I become like this? Who were those voices belong to? I guess over time I will find the answers to these questions and probably some more research.
A moment of realization hit me, if Gaster is here then Lucia is out of labor but something feels wrong, very wrong. I closed my eyes and focus on everything around me, I can see everyoneâs souls from all over the underground, from the ruins to the throne room. I minimized my search to focus on Lucia and her child, I found her soul a few doors down into the next hallway but there is another soul with her. A much smaller soul, if my memory is correct the size of an infant monster is bigger, at least twice their soul size. There is only one possible answer as to why that comes to mind and I wish it does not come to that, I need to check their soul I just hope I am wrong about this.
âGaster, I need you to take me to Lucia right now this is urgent, there is no time to lose.â From the looks of it, he knew something is up but does not question my judgment.
âRight. I donât know what it is that you know but that matter will be for another time.â He grabs my pot and makes his way to Luciaâs room, once we made it to the door Gaster straighten himself and caught his breath. I donât know how that is possible since he is made of bones and is a skeleton. But I can question that later, right now is not the time to be a curious cat and focus on the task at hand. He knocked on the door before hearing a soft âcome inâ from the inside, he steps through and I saw a small skeleton sleeping in her arms.
âOh Echo look at you, you've changed from the last time I saw you but I have to say your new appearance looks great.â When I saw that smile of hers that's full of caring and love, I felt a pang in my chest breaking the news much harder than it already is.
âThank you, Luciaâ I couldn't help but let a smile form. âGaster, may I?â I looked at him with a pleading look in my eyes, he looked from me to Lucia to the small bundle of blankets then back to me.
âVery well, just please be careful we don't know what side effects could happen with this new appearance of yours.â I nodded as he brought my pot closer to Luciaâs bed climbing out to stand by her.
âYou see I have the ability to see souls along with their stats but the reason I brought it up was that your child here - wellâŚâ I placed a vine hovering over the childâs form and summon their soul. There stood a small soul about the size of a unisicle or even a monster candy, it was smaller than I had originally thought much smaller than mine. âYour child here was not able to fully develop a soul due to the small amount of magic, even with that it is not enough to sustain his form nor his soul for much longer. Iâm sorry to the bearer of bad news, I knew how much you wanted to have a child and I did not want you to think it was your fault for not noticing sooner or tried to help them.â She did not answer nor looked at either Gaster or I but her child, half eyes were covered in darkness.
  âDo you know?â
  âPardon?â
âDo you know how to fix him? Prevent him from dusting, if it requires magic or soul I will gladly give it all for my son. I donât care if I die in the process, all that matters is that he is well and will live a long fulfilling life.â
âLucia letâs be rational here, we can find a way without the need of sacrificing anybody, please? Iâll ask Asgore if I can put off the barrier experiments to conduct some tests to heal our son, just please think this through - for him.â
âI read all the books in the entire facility and was able to find a solution if this was to ever rise up with any of the citizens. Itâll take some time-â
âDo it. Whatever it will take for my son to live, I donât care about the consequences I'll pay it if so be it.â
âIf that is your command than I shall obey, Captain Lucia.â I held the small soul in the middle of my vines transferring over my magic to the childâs soul. The lights were flickering till they burst, causing a blackout within the facility with myself as the only light source. There were odd symbols circling around Luciaâs bed in an illuminating blue color. I was growing tired from the loss of magic but I could care less of what will become of me. The life of a child is far more important than I, a precious life form who holds a title only they can live up too.
