It was anything but easy to put my online life on hold! BUT âthinking slowlyâ, with coloured pens and graph paper, resulted in #PrimeNumbers in #AmazingColourPatterns. And thus a new era is beginning. In German itâs called #LebensAufgabe, my âtask of lifeâ. And being in Germany means more respect for women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). So weâll see what Life has upâŚ

Humans set Limits, Machines Crunch Numbers. From #AI to #SmartKnowledge? @turinginst @DameWendyDBE
This was another superb Turing Lecture: AI through the Looking Glass by Dame Wendy Hall DBE at the Knowledge Centre of the British Library, where the Alan Turing Institute is situated.
Thatâs where American Professor Lenore Blum said that girls only need more support to get into science and technology and she proved this at Carnegie Mellon University where she achieved a 50/50 balance. Women doâŚ

Yesterdayâs Digital Leadersâ Salon was one of those exquisite events again I LOVE to attend: superb venues, an excellent format with great rules of communication and a great opportunity for networking individually.
Two lead discussionists from the Cabinet Office and AXELOSâ promoting global best practice â set the scene in rather a provocative fashion which I can accentuate, due to my ownâŚ

Algorithms with Societal Impact and Data Analytics for Human Health @RoyalSociety
The morningâs session began with Professor Karen Yeung from Kingâs College chairing. She is co-author of Law, Regulation and Technology: the Field, Frame and Focal Questions. Isnât that interesting for us in the Law Special Interest Group at the British Computer Society?
John Quinn spoke about Machine learning and the humanitarian information gap. He works for UN Global Pulseand thus I learnedâŚ

The Growing Ubiquity of Algorithms in Society: Implications, Impacts and Innovations @RoyalSociety
This event at the Royal Society made me really feel at home!
The first session covered Machine Learning and The Law.
It started with an introduction by Professor Sofia Olhede, one of the organisers, and a presentation by Christina Blacklaws from the Law Society who sits also on the Family Justice Council, on Transparency and Accountability.
Her presentation was followed by Marion OswaldwhoâŚ

Fifty Years of Learning from #Data Prof. Robert Calderbank #TuringLecture @TuringInst
Professor Robert Calderbank came from Duke University in North Carolina to deliver this superb overview over the past 50 years and how data science is the result of that development.
Having created the Information Initiative @ Duke, he presented the Data+ program that attracts undergraduates in an interdisciplinary way and prepares them for their careers.Â
He âsellsâ them as teams of three ratherâŚ

Recently I had the great pleasure of listening to Prof. Lenore Blumâs talk about Alan Turing and the Other Theory of Computation at the Knowledge Centre of the British Library.
For me, this talk was particularly significant, because it juxtaposed:-
Turing with Newton;
Logic / Computer Science with Numerical Analysis / Scientific Computing;
computable numbers with the intrinsic size of an inputâŚ

Time for Change: A New Vision for the British Economy #EconomicJustice @IPPR
This event was organised at Church House in Westminster to launch the Interim Report of the IPPR Commission on Economic Justice.
The conference room is decorated by a plaque to commemorate the war years when Churchill appealed to the âproudest assertion of British freedom and the expression of an unquestionable national will.â â Is that alive in todayâs globalised world?

Mona Lisa re-visualised as a movable object in âTrue Colour 3Dâ opens her eyes when tilted
âYour images are stunningly goodâ wrote Dr Martin Kemp â Chair of the Institute of Materials.
âVery promising technologyâ came from an associate of the National Institute for Health Research.
Maybe science needs art to allow for conceptual quantum leaps rather than incremental step changes for innovation?
Or do men need reminding of Faustâs: The eternal Feminine draws us upward so that STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths] can embrace the Arts and become STEAM? This Guardian article says: Innovation is born when Arts meets Science or as Matt Ridley suggests in this TED talk, when ideas have sex.
Here are links to the paintings re-visualised by our Smart Knowledge Engine â a work in progress â in our unique True Colour 3D â with a few samples from Tate Britain:

Mona Lisa
Marilyn Monroe.
Andy Warholâs Marilyn Monroes seem to stick their tongues out when they are being tilted and shown in different angles and perspectives.
Here I present the engine on video as I am thinking of a Digital Renaissance.
And here are the latest microscopic images to help the diagnosis of asthma as the most common childhood disease:
a flue virus
and trachea cells.
In the spirit of a âdigital renaissanceâ, here are some images of touch tables in galleries that would make our re-visualisations very exciting as movable 3D objects:

And here are paintings from the Tate website â as original and re-visualised:

I had no idea who the speakers would be at this Grand Salon. But, once again, Digital Leaders put an excellent event together, with respect to:
choice of venue: City Hall â slightly too strongly air conditioned on this hot day;
choice of Chair: Charlotte Holloway whom I had met at techUK meetings and whoâs now joined Public.io;

Digital Town Hall: Co-Creating a Smart London took place on Tuesday, 13 June 2017, in the historic Town Hall of Bethnal Green that has become a hotel and event venue.
The meeting was organised by Robert Monster, CEO of Digital Town who calls himself an âenlightened capitalistâ and introduced IoP as the Internet of ⌠PEOPLE!
