Very selective, highly private & mutuals only roleplay blog for Kiryu Kazuma, the Dragon of Dojima of the Yakuza videogame series. Mun is 25+, Kiryu is, for now, 37, and currently playing through the Yakuza series for the first time! Mostly Headcanons and future predictions will be posted at least until I have finished Kiwami - I play the game on twitch if you’re interested!

Current Game: Yakuza Kiwami Main Verse takes place, at the moment, After the events of Yakuza 0 but during the events of  Kiwami

【狂犬】 “HA! How can ya even ask that of me!” huff huff…! “Throwin it down with you always gets me FIRED UP, Kiryu-chan!”

The dragon’s blasé attitude only ever prompted Majima to up the ante, a wicked itch in him to poke and prod at that stoic façade. Today had been no different, aside from maybe not losing a tooth or two this time, and he was conscious enough to fuck around.

He’s on his feet again, rolling out the pump in his arms. “Tank is runnin a bit on empty, though.” A gesture to the dim glow of the cigarette between that perpetual frown of theirs. “Why don’t you pass me one of those?”

     “  I got it, I got it -  ”     

    He's shifted his heels into the dirt, squinting his sharpening gaze at his slowly re-invigorating friend. A dragon who moves in near silence, feigning deafness to the pleas of a man who challenged him to a fight, lost, but still retained the nerve to ask for one of his cigarettes. With anyone else, he may have thought to reconnect his foot to the back of the ankles and drop them again -

Almost.

That tenacity only served to tug at the corners of his frown, soften the stone-like toughness worn like armor, to reach back into his pockets for another one. He breathes deep, removes it from his lips to exhale toward the clear skies above them, and extends a single cigarette his way.

Kiryu is seen as a very scary Yakuza man who is bad and will probably hurt you if you look at him wrong >: (((( ( ex. This is Neutral Face. Just }: [ ).

He looks quite scary and can be very intimidating so that pretty face gets him into lots of trouble. Even when he’s no longer affiliated directly with the Yakuza, Kiryu frequently gets pulled into fights with various punks on the street because of his appearance. I can’t find too much fault with these people, as when I first saw Kiryu I thought a lot about him too - and none of my thoughts or opinions of him were correct lmao but even Kiryu gets super annoyed about it.... Even though he happily fights them back bc what else should he do??? Not fight? Exactly.

So it is the exact opposite of the kind of man that he is. Like. The OPPOSITE. He is so honorable and honest, sweet-hearted and street wise, and his wholesome smile will just melt your heart too. As for whether their reputation matters to them, I think that remains to be seen. So far, almost halfway through Kiwami, it doesn’t seem as if it does matter to him too much. Maybe he cares in a way due to the lack of opportunity for some peaceful days in his life.

          Kiryu’s already shown to be so loyal to the people he’s grown close to, perhaps loyal to a fault. In fact, he was so loyal to his father-figure Kazama that he joined the Yakuza because of him. He seems to forgive a bit too easily, though... but perhaps that will change in the future?  Kiryu’s stoicism makes it seem like he’d be more of a Loner type who doesn’t want friends but he’s seen making them really easily throughout the games!! He can make friends with clerks, kids, random people on the street... and he’ll go all out for them too because he’s a good man.  He’ll speak candidly to them, without hiding his emotions or sparing their feelings. 

     I’ve been so lacky about writing on here because I’m very focused on iconing right now!! If no one minds it, I’d absolutely LOVE to write down my thoughts on Kiryu and these games as I go along! I’ll put them under Cosmos Plays Yakuza in case you don’t want to see them!

          I know some people make the assumption that very powerful people don’t know their own strength, whether for comedic effect or otherwise, but I think that because he’s been fighting all his life, I don’t think that applies to Kiryu. Because he’s been doing this for so long, he knows just how much strength is needed to either ‘knock someone out’ or ‘kill someone’. He actively holds back in street fights depending on the level of intensity that the fights’ started. I do believe a punch from Kiryu could kill someone should he not be holding back  -  but the thing is, since he himself would never kill another person, that part of his strength is shoved to the wayside and ignored.

🍋  :    what kind of diet does my muse have? do they eat regularly, or the standard 2-3 meals a day? do they have to be reminded to eat, or are they likely to remind others? do they cook, or have others cook for them? do they eat healthily, or not so much?

          🥝   -  I would say that his most unusual interest at first glance would be his love of Pocket Circuit Racing lol. Though I haven’t finished Kiwami or the other games, it’s a nice substory/minigame to pass the time with and the way he reacts to it is just adorable, honestly, this big guy with a resting ‘I'm a yakuza’ face going all out with these little racing hotwheels  -  going all out, making lots of friends with his little car  -  I mean just look at the way he reacts when he wins!!  

          🍋   - This one is interesting to think about, since you can eat whatever you want in the games  ( for restoring health, you can pick a burger place or an expensive sushi place etc, etc, so you can actively choose what he eats  )  but in cutscenes I’ve only ever seen big bowls of ramen and ramen cups with empty beer cans around his little apartment, so I’d say his diet is pretty bad despite the fact that he is ripped to shreds and incredibly fit and athletic.
