Mack has to go fix his tooth, and then as noted on the Never Offside podcast, Will says that they went out for a late breakfast together (date, cute). ((however, can mack even eat? i'm not certain to what extent his dental work was, but i'm normally numb for 2-4 hours after. he probably didn't eat much. this will surely lead to a bout of hangry-ness.))

then they went to the PGA super store to return Will's putter. this errand took too long, so they had to quickly rush to former Shark's captain Logan Couture's press conference announcing his retirement.

reinforced by this interview, willmack is so very clearly NOT in a good mood. as we've heard before, will is more of a go-with-the-flow person. so maybe mack was just in a sour mood because everything was taking too long and not adhering to the schedule he envisioned in his own mind that he never bothered to tell anyone about because he assumed everyone else operates like him.

however, as someone who can relate to will's repression of anxiety (i.e. symptoms showing up in sleep patterns, biting skin around nails, struggling to be left alone), i think having someone around like mack, (who takes it to another level and frankly cannot mask it to save the life of him) ((which is NOT a problem, but rather another interesting characteristic he is able to present)), it gives me more confidence to step up in a stressful scenario.

even though it's not dire per say, having someone who i am responsible for and knowing that i can help them through their frustration/anxiety helps me completely take my mind off of my own self induced spiral. i think will and i may both have anxious avoidant attachment styles. here is the interview:

so after struggling through that, someone forces them to take this photo. which might actually subconsciously sting gabe, considering this was him and will just a year prior.

also, please note the absolutely disgusting, pathetic effort at growing out their scruff. that's the part where i begin to have some questions.

then here is macklin kicking will in the background of this god-awful interview, probably signaling to will that he is hungry or tired and that he wants to gtfo of there. he's had a long day, spent time at the dentist, suffered through multiple bad interviews and endured will schmoozing it up with Drew and Randy. but will actually says, "hey sorry, we have to go back to the PGA super store to finish getting my clubs re-gripped."

in the Never Offside podcast, mack states that he was getting agitated in the car at around 4pm. so then he "slightly taps will's unsafe windshield," causing it to crack.

by the time they're set to film the podcast, will has already completely forgiven mack and can laugh about how bad their day was. if the sun sets in san jose in april at 7:30-8:00pm PDT, then it would make sense that this was filmed around 6ish. sun is still shining behind cat.

here's the part i find funny: mack breaks will's windshield, will takes mack to get food, they go home and probably have some quiet time, then they SHAVE THEIR FACIAL HAIR TOGETHER(??), and proceed to sit down completely relaxed to talk to Cat and Toff.

maybe not a big deal to anyone else. but i'd love to point out all of the moments that they're staring directly into the camera and you know they aren't looking at cat/toff. and the small elbowing and punches. and their shoulders drifting together within the first 5 minutes. and.. this...

anyway. whatever. i don't really care. then they wrapped the podcast and drove to ty & cat's for their end of the season party. looongggg ass day for them tbh, but iconic for us!

Like modern prisons, they were also conveniently filled with masses of easily exploitable free labor forces- and this goes for both sides of the war. The German camp that my great-uncle was placed in forced them to repair railroad lines destroyed during the war, and per the War Relocation Act, many Japanese Americans interned here in the US were also forced into hard labour in agriculture & construction.

When Donald Trump says that rounding up immigrants will fix our economy, many people look at those pretty words from a workers perspective and assume he means freeing up American Jobs(tm) for Real American Patriots(tm) to secure. After all, that's the narrative his regime has been spinning. But even beyond the grotesque and racist implications of believing that justification at face value, it's also just fucking stupid to believe him at all. Donald Trump is a billionaire part of the capitalist ruling class which exists solely on the exploitation of workers- as evident by his own slew of lawsuits from workers he refused to pay- so why on Earth would he do anything to benefit them?

No, when Donald Trump says these camps will fix the economy, he is working for the benefit of other billionaires in his class. And only one thing truly benefits them; free or ridiculously cheap labor.

In 2019, folks imprisoned by ICE in California sued GEO Group for forcing them to work under a "voluntary" work program (actually under threat of harm or solitary confinement) so that the company did not have to hire more staff to maintain the detention center. CoreCivic was accused of the same in 2023. These are private companies hired to create and staff these detention facilities & they were also some of the biggest financial supporters of Trump's campaign. Conveniently, these lawsuits tend to die in or out of court, or be drawn out indefinitely. A man who sued GEO Group for forced labor in a Colorado detention center in 2014 is still pending resolution. (Side note but GEO Group also just rejected a shareholder vote to review their Human Rights conduct. Normal behavior when you're definitely not violating human rights.)

Why does all this matter? Because it's exactly how things started in the Holocaust, too. Forced labour was, at first, limited to working within the camp completing everything that needed to be done, as it far exceeded the capabilities of the Nazi workers alone. Easy enough to justify. Only when the war created shortfalls in other work sectors did the Nazi party push this labour to the next level- outsourcing that labour to companies like Volkswagen, who coordinated with Hitler to take control of several of those camps. This is not to say that extermination wasn't always the end goal of the Nazi Party, only that forced labour played an active part in the design of that cruelty, and it GREATLY benefited the German economy. Trust that it is part of the design here, too- and that it always has been. Trump is just one president in a long line to continually expand these operations to their own benefit.
