Ross Sr. was seemingly only difficult to work with if he did not like or have trust in you.

Bob Kurtz (an artist and writer on The Alvin Show) himself has gone into detail before about what it was like working with Ross:

Ross was very particular about his vision, and when he felt the artists there weren't meeting his vision, he flew into rage. There was seemingly not much trust between both Herb Klynn and Ross Bagdasarian.

(side note: Ross didn't have a brother-in-law. Unless one of his brothers was somehow gay married back then, but I doubt it. It was most likely a cousin of his.)

At the same time, Bob Kurtz also details more positive moments working on the show

More accounts of Ross and Herb not really seeing eye to eye.

Ross once again trusting everyone else but Herb. It seems Herb didn't trust Ross much either when he snuck around to work on another project with Bob Kurtz, T. Hee and Cal Howard:

Speculation from Bob Kurtz about if Ross would steal and sell their project himself if he found out about it. I personally don't think he would've done that because I don't think he had much of an attention span for doing another cartoon... Or even the chipmunk franchise itself in general, as we all know he would drop that shit completely 8 years later. (That and his father's death in 1969 most likely made him want to pick up the family business and go back to producing grapes and wine with his sons Adam and Jr. helping him. Speaking of which, Adam wrote a very lovely book called First French Kiss and Other Traumas that detailed Ross as a warm, loving father, but with an intimidating temper and standards that felt too high for young Adam.)

Frankly, nobody liked this presentation. But it's telling that Leo Salkin and Bob Kurtz could see Ross change colors from how pissed off he was, enough to throw an offensive slur once they left.

More behind the scenes from Bob Kurtz and how Ross seemed humored by his drunkenness while pitching a storyboard. Ross also seemed to really like Bob and their little group and held his anger for others on the staff.

Not much here, just Ross showing up to work in a fuckin Jaguar and impressing Bob enough to get his own.

i compiled my own urbz sims in the city soundfont like a year ago by just throwing the rom in audacity. i was gonna make the entire soundtrack to both final fantasy vii and x, but i stopped having fun with it and decided to just upload most of what i have.
