The prophecy is still the same. Rusty, however, is a tom with a rather peculiar coat.

Bluestar looked into those burning eyes and wondered if he was The Fire.

Either way, they needed more cats. Surely, just one more cat won't lead to much trouble.

OR: Everything leads said cat into trouble.

Summary/Disclaimer

This is a self-indulgent rewrite/AU of the Warriors series. Creative liberties and decisions will be made to fill in plot holes, expand world building and ultimately have fun with this story.

This AU will be a mix of art and writing (depending on my preferred medium during the creative process), a loose sense of telling the story and will jump around the timeline sometimes.

No need to worry, once a masterpost is made, I'll make sure to put them in chronological order!

"So." Rosetail purred, already atop the Highrock as if she were meant to be there, beckoning Bluestar to lay with her.

The blue molly's ear twitched as she wordlessly did so, letting her life long friend start cleaning her fur.

"We're running out of cats now, are we?"

"Yes."

The two went quiet as they looked down upon Thunderclan, the noise of life filling in the silence for them.

Rosetail noted how the leader seemed honed in on the newcomer and chuffed in prodding question.

"Is that the only reason?"

"...Spottedleaf had a vision. He might be involved."

"Might be?"

"Fire alone will save our clan." Ah. She looked over to Charredpaw's distinct black fur, almost brown when underneath the sun.

"I see, not exactly fire enough. Why didn't you take him then? You'd know if he was if you were his mentor." At that, Bluestar scoffed, tail curling around her body, bristling from tension.

Rosetail idly licked the tufts of fur down.

"And if he isn't? I'd be unable to tend to the actual fire once they do arrive. Not to mention, this was an opportunity to add Tigerclaw into my test."

"Right." The apprentice test, the concept still made the molly wonder if leadership really made a cat's head turn a little loose, "I still think it's a detriment to the apprentices."

"I'd taken care to ensure it wouldn't be, the only one I agreed to switch over was Ravenpaw. The rest of my choices are still learning well. It's their flaws I'm looking to see if their mentors can find a way to handle it."

"Which would be easy, if they were paired with mentors that fit with them well." The dark molly mewed gently, ever patient even as Bluestar looked up at her with a hardened gaze.

"We're Thunderclan, Rosetail. We don't do easy."

Rosetail chuckled helplessly, she already knew where this was headed.

"No, we never do. I suppose there's a reason you're letting me know all this."

Bluestar rose from where she lay and tentatively smoothed over the ruffled fur on her friend's shoulder.

"Be my eyes and ears?"

HUH

"Ah, Goldenflower's back." An ear flicked from Lionface's comment and subtly, Tigerclaw turned to get a glimpse of the camp's entrance.

"Odd, rabbits aren't the prey she usually hunts." Like sensing a weakness, Lionface honed into the statement, the seasoned warrior's eyes closing in amusement.

"It isn't. Perhaps, she's looking to share it, hm~?" The brown tom rolled his eyes, muzzle twitching as he felt the other give him a goading nudge.

"You're being ridiculous." The nudge is more insistent now as the golden tom noticed his sister carefully head her way towards them.

"Come now, my brother-in-paw!" Tigerclaw huffed, even when his tail curled at the soft calling trill from behind him.

"Not your brother." He hissed quietly before finally turning towards the approaching molly, subtly licking down the fluff on his chest to smooth it down.

"Not yet– Goldenflower! Have you come to share prey with your dear brother?" Lionface playfully crooned, laughing heartily and padding away from his sister's warning glare.

"You've gotten quite the catch, Goldenflower." Tigerclaw decided to keep the siblings from fighting, complimenting the she-cat once he noticed just how plump the rabbit looked.

"Yes, quite. I'm not sure I can finish it by myself."

"Ah."

"Have you eaten, Tigerclaw?"

He had.

"Not yet."

Goldenflower slowly blinked at him, disbelieving but pleased.

"Then let's share."

tragically, i could not give my version matching mullets like Iterum does for lore reasons but yes, I tried to make them similar enough, unintentionally matching :]
