Look I’ve been seeing the apparent underground war between Tim and Jason fans all over my timeline. I’m gonna be a buck-fifty. I do not care. Characterize Tim as a wobbly-lipped kiddy or do the same to Jason. So long as Dick is a good big brother and has those moments I DO NOT CARE.
But the MOMENT I see someone dramatize Tim losing Robin and being suggested therapy as Dick being a demonic brother or see the same about Dick’s initial treatment of Jason as Robin, I’m out. None of that happened.
Dick was a good, albeit distant, new brother. He didn’t know the kid and he was in a different city — sue him. He made more effort to meet Jason even though the kid was only his brother for like a year than I did to see my siblings in college. Idk what to tell you.
As for the Robin mantle swap, even comic Tim wasn’t all that upset. He was ready to find Bruce, and Dick wasn’t even the one to get the ball rolling on that. It was forgotten like a few panels later, no dramatics included. As for not being overly enthusiastic about the Batquest, can you blame him??? Given NO current information about the status of Bruce, is it really THAT crazy to suggest therapy and healthy means of moving on instead of a globetrotting adventure to obsessively seek out your dead father???
And like I know it turns out that Tim was right in the end. Awesome. I don’t chagrin him for that. But I DO chagrin fans who make Dick out to be evil for trying to be an emotionally mature brother. Fucking comic Tim understands that.
TL;DR: I don’t care about your fanon characterizations until they come for my homie Dick Grayson. At that point I’m ready to throw hands.
