This is my depiction, and I REALLY want to yap about this beautiful art work and what each little detail could POSSIBLY mean.
Let’s start off with the big stuff:
Jason on the door & blood:
In the center piece it’s Jason laying next to door, obviously with Joker holding the crow bar that either nearly killed him or just killed him in general (I’ve seen some adaptations, so excuse me if I’m worn). And this is obviously shown that the incident and Joked HAUNTS him. He’s tortured by this at a daily basis. As well as it’s shown it spattered across his room, which he is locked away from btw (more on that later I promise), and especially on the flowers(ALSO more on that later).
What I find stricken is that the red shadow/puddle leads to Batman. Bruce Wayne. Showing that not onoy does he hate Joker, but he also hated Bruce. He blamed him, and look at the scowl as he loos at the batman shaped shadow/puddle. Hes also hurt by Bruce (even if Bruce didn’t mean to), he felt like Batman wasn’t there. He also was hurt that he didn’t bother revenging him, causing him to possibly feel unloved by the whole ordeal.
However, his clothes says other wise. I could be wrong, but Hason is wearing a bat shirt. This could mean nothing, however this is my depiction of it; he still care soft Bruce. Even though he is HEAVILY hurt by Bruce, he could possibly still dislike/hate. However, I don’t think you would feel like that if you wore their merch/type of clothing that represents their identity l.
This could mean that he still loves Bruce, he holds him to his chest/heart.
Throughout the piece, there’s white flowers everywhere where. But the main thing, the flowers are in a vase. And it looks smashed, almost like it was thrown over or pushed over by something. Or someone. And note the type of flower it is, white usually symbolize purity and innocence. AMAZING work on the author, for what this means.
The flowers being covered in blood, and thrown around in disarray means that Jason’s remaining innocence was ruined. It was killed. You have to remember, Jason was just a kid(teen depending on the comic). His life was already shit, mainly because of how he became a criminal, his abusive family, and much more. But Joker took the remaining thing he had left of his childhood.
Now, let’s note that the scenery. Jason seems to be locked out of a room, or rather refuses to go into the room. The room looks small and incredibly messy, I want to say it’s ehis bedroom from Wayne’s house/mansion. This is shown by the picture that’s on his bookshelf (which literally breaks my heart), with Bruce and Jason smiling side by side. But Jason’s self is covered in the blood that’s scattered across the room.
This could mean; that Jason feels like a stranger in his room. Like it doesn’t belong to him (also shown by the ghost of his younger self, but more on that later), he itsn’t the person that owns that room. However, he can’t but still feel that familiarity, so he leans on the door. Feeling as though that’s enough.
The destruction of the room could mean his life taking such a tumble. It almost looks like it was ransacked, possibly because of the influence of the Joker. But also destruction caused by him.
The obvious one, the child ghost of Jason. Hes golden. He’s in the center room, looking at the door in such a curious(I don’t know if I’m depicting that right, he looks like), as if in wonder at the door where Jason is at.
This could symbolize: the wonder of what happened to Jason’s and how he became to be. But this could also mean the now-Jason sees himself as a purity, almost like an angel (shown by he’s in gold) but also tarnished (becuase of the blood). This could mean Jason’s longing and desire to be his old self again, which is another reason he’s behind the door. He feels as though he doesn’t deserve to reconcile with his past. Which is why he’s also holding his helmet, that NOW represents him.
What I find interesting is the calendar representing the floor. As well as the color being more of a brighter red as it goes down the art piece.
From what I assume, that dates/days on the calendar was how long he was gone with the joker. Showing the endless days tha that h was tortured and beaten. This than escalates to the 27th being hastily drawn, almost like a deadline and the drop of a death. I would assume this the LAST day he was killed, seeing as the 7 slowly drags down similar to the puddle.
And the red slowly being prevalent, could mean the killings that Jason gained when he became Red Hood. Possibly mean the blood.
GOOD LORD, I love this fandom so damn much. But I’m in love with this artist’s symbolic work, of each little detail explain Jason’s experience and his life now. Now this is just my depiction of everything, and this could easily mean nothing. But I had fun analyzing this whole piece.
