Like Jason's trying to be the responsible adult, but this boy is just a kid who's constantly been failed by the adults in his life and doesn't respect authority figures, so he calls Jason mom as a jab, it starts off with a "will you quit it? You're not my mom Red Hood" to which Jason replied; "No, but I'm keeping both of us alive rn" and the kid goes "yeah what a shitty job you're doing at it mom"
Then it slowly stops being a jab and more of an endearment term (?), he's doing something dumb with the other kids and goes "mom's gonna freak out" and they all just know who's mom. Something goes wrong and he just turns to Jason and says "this is bullshit ma" and Jason's so used to it he doesn't even react
