Wind Chimes, Witch Ladders / the Evil in Stillness
A folk grimoire of destagnation.
Those of us with European parents are undoubtedly familiar with the feeling of coming home from some trip, where your parents urge you to run through the house and open all the windows: "air out the house!" You speed around, kicking up dust, moving the air, slowly washing away the strange feeling of stillness that has contaminated your home. Air out the house. "Don't catch the draft," your parent yells up the stairs at you. The draft, of course, is never explicitly acknowledged to contain some ill-wishing spirit that will give you the flu, but everybody knows it does. And the same can be said for that stagnant air in the house, the silence permeating the walls.
“And women still have memories of woods, Older than any personal memories;”

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is clean your room, open the window, and let the air move again. Energy needs circulation just like lungs do.
— Breakfast at Tiffany's, Truman Capote

my favourite curse in Irish is go ndéana an diabhal dréimire de chnámh do dhroma ag piocadh úll i ngairdín ifrinn / may the devil make a ladder out of your spine and use it to pick apples in the gardens of hell. evocative. effective. there's gardens in hell? you can even get a little evil with it and hiss when ur sayin ifreann

i think names are such a delicate thing and we dont say each other's names enough bc why else does it strike such a chord in me when ppl say my name as if i actually exist
"don't speak ill of the dead" don't be a piece of shit before you die.

Hi! I hope this isn’t too annoying of an ask, I’m not too sure if you’ve posted about this already. I love your page and was curious:
Do you use the ogham for divination, and if so, do you have tips/resources/advice for learning? Only if you’re willing to share of course! There’s so much different info and opinions out there that I’ve found, and I’d love to hear yours.
Feel free to ignore this message if it’s not something you feel called to answer.
Hi! @wildoakwitch Not annoying at all! I do use ogham for divination, I've been doing it for a while but I'm still very much continuing to learn and research it as well, if you haven't come across them already there is one main blog on here which I highly recommend @blackcrowing they're ogham posts as well as language posts are extremely helpful.
This is their master post: https://www.tumblr.com/blackcrowing/709086773358247936/blackcrowings-ogam-masterpost
Another post that links talking about the re-evaluation of the ogham tree list: https://www.tumblr.com/blackcrowing/724329428671479808/im-so-excited-to-see-other-people-talking-about
