Userscript: Canopy Crepes Reskin

If you want to make crepes without bugs (or meat, or seafood, or grass and mushrooms) you can now do so with my new canopy crepes reskin userscript on GitHub.

Please note that while this was developed to give an option for those who, for whichever reason, could not play the game with the current ingredients, this is still a userscript, and comes with risks when using it.

It doesn't communicate with the game server (behind the scene the order is still the same, this is purely a visual change on your browser), nor does it play the game for you. The dialogue is hopefully rewritten in such a way that the intended difficulty/playstyle is still intact. This script is not intended to change how the game is played.

I've done my best to replicate the visual style for the new ingredients, but I am not an artist, so there is room for improvement. If you have any feedback, want to help me improve this, or want to report a bug, please let me know either here on tumblr or through GitHub ..b

If you have a severe bug phobia, please wait with using this userscript until it's been tested a bit more - I can't guarantee that everything will be reskinned as it should.

I have also added instructions on how you can use this script as a base if you want to make your own image and dialogue replacements in the readme on GitHub. You are allowed to use the images I made and edit them if you want.

As a disclaimer, I don't have any particular phobias or visuals I dislike, so I have done my best to pick ingredients that fit based on intuition, but I am sorry if some of the ingredients are unsuitable.

Basic is the only gene in the game with "plentiful" rarity. Its been many years since it earned that title in-practice. To put it simply, I think that Staff intentionally design NPCs with full basic as often as possible for the secondary purpose of making it look plentiful in-lore, since players dont generally want their lairs full of flat colours.

If you've ever attended a LARP, you'll be familiar with Oversaturation of Protagonists, which is to say that when everyone is a main character, everyone looks pretty unremarkable. Players all want to be the chosen one, or the best warrior, and have the flashiest costume, and nobody wants to be the town cobbler. It makes sense, because the town cobbler probably doesnt want to get eaten by a mimic, but a healthy world has Really Really Boring NPCs to make it actually livable for the main characters, because slaying monsters doesnt help when you need a new pair of shoes.

Anyway, these are all dragons with day jobs. They make up the bulk of the population in-canon, and thus statistically will more often than not, have plentiful traits unless they have a reason to be flashy.
