Guys this is real, I share because I care.
this is the perfect grade of good luck
reblog in 5 seconds and all of your grades will inch ever closer to perfect
My new meds make my skin throw a fit. Itâs not terribly bad, just a few things here and there, but itâs bumming me out because Iâve never really had too many run-ins with acne.
My four-year-old sister, however, is under the impression that itâs just â3D frecklesâ, and that they look very, very pretty. She wants all of my freckles to âpop outâ, especially the ones across my nose; theyâre her favourite.
And it puts me in this weird position where I canât say, âNo, this is acne, and itâs bad,â because I donât want to teach her that itâs a bad to have unclear skin, you know?
Because the more I think about interactions I have with children, the more I realise that children will consistently compliment âflawsâ until theyâve been taught not to.
Like, a kid at the library, whose sister has vitiligo, saw my scars once and suggested that his sister and I should be cats for Halloween, since I have âtabby skinâ and she has âcalico skinâ. âI can be a black cat,â he immediately added. âItâs not AS cool, but theyâre the spookiest.â
When I started losing weight, my little brother immediately demanded that I gain it back, because I wasnât as comfortable to cuddle with anymore.
And my other little sister always wants to wear her paint-stained clothes to school so that âeveryone can tell [sheâs] an artistâ.
I donât know. I guess talking to little kids just reminds me that all of this superficial shit we worry about really is 100% made up.

Canât risk it
The duck of creativity. I waited so long for it.
Relationships get so bananas when you start deciphering the other personâs love language.
Like I thought I was just acquaintances with this person because they never told me details about themselves and we just talked movies and writing . But then they made time to have coffee with me and they showed up out of breath because they ran. Like. RAN to be on time for coffee with me?
And I was like âi donât mind waitingâ cause I never want to run
But they said they wanted every minute they could get because Iâm so busy usually
Which is when it clicked that I didnât get how much they considered me a friend because I just straight away didnât see MY signs of affection in them and went âcool! Casual buds it is.â But now that Iâm seeing their signs of affection, I feel a little silly for dismissing them like that even though I felt like we could be best bros.
Anyway, some people show affection through time or intensity or commitment and not vocally. I really have to remember that!

itâs crazy that im alive to witness major effects of climate change. like it always seemed super vague and it was always âthe polar bears wonât have anywhere to liveâ but this shit is going to fuck everything up bigtime.
Most people donât realize how serious it is. Weâve only got 50 years worth of resources left, if we keep going the way we are, and honestly, thatâs optimistic. Aside from that, weâve already gone over the calculated âpoint of no returnâ, so even if we immediately start sucking gasses out of the atmosphere and stop all transport and agriculture, weâre going to see oceans rise, sea life die, weâre going to be crammed into smaller land areas, places like Melbourne will be underwater, and the fallout will probably send us into an ice age anyway (long story, but basically the ice melts, cold water sinks, the ocean flow responsible for thermoregulation of the planet is interrupted, cue ice age).
I can already see it now. Forget the hurricanes for a moment:
-Hay isnât growing at the right time. Last year, no one got good hay where I live, because the weather (which has been in the same pattern during hay season for as long as Iâve been alive) was whacked out.
-None of my animals grew coats correctly, because the weather is just all wrong, and they donât know what season theyâre in.
-Weâre getting new temperature records globally; basically, all weather is starting to change already
-Where I live, there are always two weeks where we see echidnas everywhere, and then we donât see them the rest of the year. that is, until last year, when we barely saw them, spaced throughout several months.Â
-Let me reiterate, the animals cannot tell what season it is because climate change is altering weather patterns that have been here for as long as anyone can remember
-We also have more acidic rain due to all the gasses, which is why weâve got so many statues and whatnot corroding even though they havenât changed for thousands of years
-We had a tornado start to form in Melbourne. Thatâs unheard of.
We have the technology to slow down climate change. If we want to survive for more than 50 years, we need to act now. NOW. We need to put in place all the technologies we have, and pour money into more scientific research.
And why havenât we? Because politicians earn money from oil companies and donât care about the future of the planet, because theyâre not going to be here in 50 years anyway.
https://www.skepticalscience.com/Â is a great website that debunks common myths about climate change! check it out! it has a wealth of information thatâs super easy to understand and even comes in different levels in terms of learning.Â
i just recently sat in a climate change presentation and the physicist who gave the presentation talked about how if in the next 30 years we (not just Americans, but humans all over the world) do not cut down on carbon emissions (and this honestly boils down to policy changes that MUST be made amongst industrialists in âdeveloped countriesâ but thatâs a whole other conversation) climate change will ultimately become irreversible.Â
30 years yâall. thatâs within all of our life times. and these effects are going to be pretty much the end of human civilization as we know it.Â
How does this not scare EVERYONE into action? Like how can people be so daft as to still not believe that things are changing for the worst?
sometimes Iâm like âmy therapist doesnât really tell me anything I donât already knowâ but then I remember that I used to eat scrambled eggs every single morning because I hated them but I hated them less than I hate all other breakfast food on weekdays (donât @ me waffles are a weekend food and they Do Not start me on a productive path) and my therapist said, âwhy not eat a lunch food?â
and I said, âexplainâ
and she said, âyou know youâre allowed to eat whatever food you want in the morning. you are not bound by law to the traditional american breakfast.â
my fatherâs insurance pays a hundred dollars an hour for a woman to give me permission to eat a pb&j at six in the morningÂ
