First of all, CHELSEA. “Oh but Bella’s gift” yeah, but isn’t Bella actively busy kicking ass for the majority of the battle, like surely there was at least one moment where Chelsea could have slipped in there. I hardly imagine she was doing much fighting since Aro liked to keep her close and safe considering her talent was extremely important. So wouldn’t she have just been off to the side trying to break the bonds? It would have been so easy to get the majority of the gifted vamps on multiple occasions. I could go on for ages about that specific point, I might make a separate post.

Number 2, ALEC. I get Jane can only get one person at a time (I’m pretty sure???) but Alec is a fucking powerhouse and can get multiple people. “Oh but Bella-“ same as Chelsea, it would have been easy on so many occasions for Alec to use his ability to his advantage. Alec didn’t even use his power once in the BDP2 fighting scene if I remember correctly. Again, I could go on forever about this one.

Then there’s Heidi, whom I feel is extremely overlooked in this scenario. (Perhaps she wasn’t even there, I think it’s funny to think that she was off on one of her ‘fishing trips’ so that the Volturi would have a ‘meal’ to come home to lmao) I don’t think she’s as significant in this scenario as Alec and Chelsea, but wouldn’t an opponent get distracted?

Honestly same goes for Renata, also. It’s in the guide that she can literally make her opponent forget what they’re doing.

They wear suits, but they don't even know basic etiquette.
