anyways this is about a story that i made in my own universe etc and yeah now have some tags

#counter yaps is for any general yapping abt basically anything but likely going to be specifically lore and world building and stuff

#rune yaps is a subsection of counter-yaps in the sense that it is specifically abt the magic system and magic since i am making one for this

#oc yaps is gonna be for talking abt any of the characters in the story (including art when i get to it)

#counter is the story itself. i will post each ch or the link in here. Disclaimer: these are not written in chronological order because my pea sized brain cannot comprehend making and sticking to a linear progression from an outline

wistern. he is tired but stubborn enough to see things through if only by spite. held together by washi tape and prayers yet people think he is the most stable of them all. he just hasnt had time to go on a bender yet lmao. spite not be the right word though. no negative emotion. it’s the idea of loss. even if he didnt like it, it still took on a good amount of his life, and without it, even if he is happier, he loses a pillar. its scary, isnt it.

aeyan. the elder, the one who cares for them all. can make a halfway decent bowl of noodles out of stuff lying around. very empathetic, but also operates on an ignorance is bliss policy. even so, she wants to help people. is that really all that bad?

sometimes, she curses her body, her magic, her cat’s eye. she wakes up in the middle of the night, sitting up. she doesn’t know why. nothing is wrong. maybe she is just worried about her little bird. he hadn’t been acting like normal since the morning he fell out of bed. (she resolutely ignores that the once beautiful color of his amethyst was now a dull grey. she boxes up the thought that his once rich and deep purple eyes were starting to show wisps of grey like fog and clouds and tosses it out of her mental window. wow, issy must be influencing her more than she thought.) except, after a few minutes of trying to go back to sleep, the irregular huffs starts. the hitches of breath. she watches. she should do something.

it is only when he starts crying and wakes up, eyes blinking open with foggy delirium, that she moves. moving sluggishly (wade through the blankets, don’t wake issy, move slow) she makes her way to his side.

“i got you, don’t worry.” she holds his hand, words slurring a little with sleep (drag them just a bit, blink slowly. you are more than awake right now.)

ink colors have certain effects on magic circles. however, despite common perception, it is not due to its color. rather, the effects of certain types of inks are associated to colors due to a system established long ago. for instance, the most common color of all, black. black is the jack of all trades, master of none. black is not too volatile but works with the spell perfectly well to produce baseline results. it is often used as a tester tool and is essential in any kit. grey is typically associated with weaker, child safe ink, as any circle created with it has its abilities massively damped so that it would not explode with the wrong move or with an activation on a messed up rune, oftentimes only producing bare bones of effects to signify success. red works best with the more explosive, violent spells. green syncs best with anything related to nature of the material world. every color has its use. however, not every ink of the same color has the same effects. it is well known amongst those who take runescript and circletaps as a matter beyond something of convenience that it is never the ink’s color itself that produces the effects. each and every color of ink is made of different materials that typically tend towards the colors that is represented by. however, it is possible that an ink primarily of thassofil (and other materials, though i would rather not go into it at the moment), typically tends towards green with the ability to bend nature to will. however, i have seen the prettiest purple, deep like the blooms of the moonvista, be made of the same materials, and produce the same, if not more potent, effects as the typical ink. it also must be noted that inks are not to be mixed. the disaster that comes of it is…
