Fandom, I love you. I love your horniness, your exuberance, and all the creative minds that are drawn to discuss and create fanworks for these characters we all love. I also love contributing in my own daft way by making gifsets and reading the fun tags people leave.
However, I’m not sure some people realise that tumblr changed things (fairly) recently so that every tag you leave shows up in the OP’s notifications without us needing to click through to your blog. It’s just there on our page now. And while I have absolutely no wish to tell people what they can write on their own blog, I also don’t want to post a gifset and then have a lot of sexually explicit or violent content show up in my notifications without me being able to curate what I see. It makes me uncomfortable, which I’m certain was not anyone’s intention - it’s just tumblr insisting that OPs need to see every tag on our posts whether we choose to or not.
So this post is just me asking people to please give a bit more thought to what they’re writing in the tags and whether you know the OP well enough to know that they’d be fine with seeing that without warning. Waxing lyrical about Tozer’s thiccness or Liam Garrigan’s lovely thighs in that miniskirt is highly encouraged, but if it’s something that belongs in a NSFW channel you should skip it. The only way I can curate my experience on my end is by blocking people, which I really don’t want to do. Thanks! 💗
edit: If I’ve blocked you and you don’t know why (ie you’re not a pornbot, an anti, or a proud bigot) this is most likely the reason. Sorry! Tumblr is a place for me to have fun and chill out and that means taking responsibility for my own experience and avoiding things that are going to negatively impact that, it’s not at all personal.
