Hey all. Thought I should do a little post about why I run this blog and why it's important:
Image and video IDs are a matter of accessibility. They make posts more or completely accessible to people who use screen-readers, people with low vision or who are deaf/hoh/have difficulties processing audio, or just anyone who prefers having a text description of content.
(I personally use Image IDs and transcriptions because I have a hard time with audio processing and to avoid bright colors/flashing that might trigger my migraines!)
Even beyond my content, I encourage people to search in the notes of posts before reblogging to see if there's a version with an ID or transcription that they can then share with their followers. Especially if you are the OP and someone makes an ID for your content, it's awesome to share it again with a description so your followers can find it too.
Content should be available to everyone. Unfortunately this sometimes comes down to fellow users who have to create IDs, but it does nothing but help out people who enjoy the same content as you. If you are a content creator, consider reading some resources about image IDing and adding one to your own post.
If you are looking for more description about Image IDing or want to talk about it, feel free to message me. I'm no expert but I have resources and experience to share. If you are looking for your RTVS content to be described, I encourage you to reach out if you don't feel confident in making your own ID!
