I never used to understand what “making connections” looked like but it turns out it’s standing at a party and saying “I’ve been thinking about getting into the film industry” and someone saying “Oh, Sarah works in the film industry” and Sarah yelling from accross the room “Did someone say my name?!?!?!”
You casually mention that you’ve been thinking about such and such and your professor overhears and is like “oh I know someone who works there. Do you want me to email them for you?” And you go “Sure.”
It’s the six layers of separation thing. Everyone is only so many layers away from everyone else. So if you stand in the correct rooms and say the correct things out loud once in a while eventually someone will say “Oh, I know a guy.”
And then eventually you turn into the guy that someone knows. I think. It’s hard to tell.
that literally just sounds like witchcraft
I mean what is witchcraft but just saying things out loud and hoping something happens
TBH, this is how I got my medical cannabis license.
After several weeks in the fridge (because I had no spoons? IDK...)I just continued(without thinking or planning it 🤷♂️🤦♂️) with the oil extraction.
I usually cut the oil making process into 2 steps, because it is easier, but I left the ethanol extract for so long crystals started forming in the bottom of the jar. Nothing some scraping with long handled spoon and additional rinsing couldn't fix.
I put 40 gr of cbd flowers there, and I am planning to make 2 10 ml bottles of 200% extract (20 gr went into making 10 ml).
My provider is out of 28% cbd oil, so I am glad I collected some of those for oil.
The outcome:
I did some mistakes with the oil, but I think it came out good enough.
I also made some cbd rich canna-suger and cbd enriched soy milk, from the leftovers on the glassware.

Electrifying | 30.06.2020

A quick illustration because I just had to draw this silly drawing.
In Hebrew pothead-slang Sativa strains are often described as electrifying. If Sativas are electrifying, I think we should give some to the electricity expert. I think she likes it.

An observation
I been reading the comments and would be interested to know if any my autistic followers would be interested in sharing their perspective bc i saw this the same way as many comments did but dont want to speak over anyway.
Suffice to say i think saying it would benefit autistic consumers =\\= curing autism. I know and understand the issue around the perspective of "autism being a problem that needs a cure" and i don't believe in it and don't think that's what this store is expressing. Just as antidepressants could benefit someone with anxiety. It wouldn't cure it, but would help tend to some of the symptoms to make everyday life a bit more tolerable. Doesn't need a cure it just needs management, which is more accessible with the aid of [insert custom assistance here].
I also think it's not worth arguing with an employee. If they don't give the contact info then you leave and call their store and ask again or call a different location. Look the owner up,that should be public information and cause less stress to someone who's trying to pay their bills and not get fired. Anyone who has had a manager knows that manager hates to be called so we aren't inclined to just give out a phone number to every overreaching person with a chip on their shoulder.
Thoughts/input? I don't want to speak over i just saw multiple responses that echoed my intial reaction to this and wanted to see if there was anything i was overlooking that would make this seem more appropriate of a reaction
Not a follower, but I saw you in the notes and I am very autistic, and a medical cannabis user, and 100% behind Sydnee McElroy here.
I'm not a fan, have never consumed any of their content, but I know that Sydnee McElroy is in fact an MD, and my understanding is that her show is specifically about public outreach and education on shady medical things. ie, correcting shit like this, for consumer protection, is what she does professionally.
Now, an important detail that allistic people are likely to miss: That "Benefits: Autism" sign in the window? It is not marketing to autistic people. It’s aimed at Autism Moms.
Go ahead and Google any phrase you can think of about managing or coping with or handling symptoms of autism. I guarantee you, it’s going to take some digging before you find anything that’s even aimed at us, let alone by us, outside of social media. Everything is about helping the poor suffering people around the person with autism autistic person. When things are for us, they’re inevitably marketed as being for kids, and have any trace of connection to autism scrubbed off: Fidget spinners, weighted blankets, etc aren’t marketed as “benefiting autism.” (A stark example of this: There was once a line of clothing marketed as being “for autistic people,” that was made with extreme attention to texture and comfort - and active GPS tracking devices sewn in. Do you think that’s a feature any autistic person asked for?)
And medical things marketed to Autism Moms? They’re all about “curing” it or making us “normal.” Because the fundamental problem with Autism Moms is that they see the entire problem as us being wrong and strange. Even if this sign doesn’t explicitly say it (because that would actually be illegal), that’s the context and message that will be seen by the target audience.
And I shouldn’t have to tell you that, for a vast number of reasons, cannabis’s efficacy and dosage can vary wildly in comparison with other medications, and - importantly! - there is absolutely no reliable information on its effects on children. Because remember, the target audience is moms who want their kids to be normal. If you did the Google experiment I suggested, you might also have noticed that there’s almost nothing about or for autistic adults.
So, this is a quality-variable, dosage-variable, untested medication, being marketed not to patients, but to people with the authority to force it on patients. The only good thing I can say about it is that it’s not bleach, which is in fact still being sold as a cure for autism to the very same market this store is trying to capture.
This has gotten long as shit already, but on the part about arguing with an employee: It is absolutely 100% worth engaging with the people who actually interface with customers, and who customers will be using as a primary source of information. If she “doesn’t bother” to argue with him, do you think he’s going to think twice about giving the next customer dangerous medical misinformation?
Furthermore, as someone who has frequented dispensaries like this... that looks like a two-bit operation. The sort typically run by two or three affluent white people and 0-2 employees. This isn’t like Walmart or something mandating a sales pitch. This guy has the power to bring this issue up and get it corrected.
So yeah, she was 100% in the right here, and she’s got enough of an audience to make an impact, both on this specific case of misinformation and to the public in general. This wasn’t “cringy,” it was great. This is how you ally.
There has been a dramatic increase in the number of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) worldwide. Recently anecdotal ev
Going to read it later...

Months after the Ministry of Health capriciously broke a system that worked, the impact on patients like me has been devastating
"There is a health crisis in Israel. The Ministry of Health’s Cannabis Reform has been a complete failure and an unmitigated disaster that has left patients like me – parents dealing with debilitating pain and illness – to turn to the black market and deadly and addictive prescribed opioids."

The current situation in Israel regarding medical cannabis.
It is getting worse and worse.
I made some oil out of 15 gr' of Inbar flowers today. Here are some photos from the process. I use a modified Rick Simpson protocol, and dilute the extract in sesame oil.
My provider (BOL, "Breath of Life") didn't have the oils I needed, and when I received the delivery I discovered I was lied to, and the CBD oil was not 20% (like the operator told me), but 16.56 (at least, this is what I calculated from the packaging, because the concentration was actually written there, but not in the standard way). I ordered 20 gr of Inbar, the only strain of theirs that actually feels like cannabis. It sort of works for me, but it is nothing like what my previous provider had (Tikun Olam), damn, their products were actually good.
I am a medical cannabis patient, which means I am disabled, and I have best things to do with my time. I work part time in a lab, and invested in some lab gear, but I am privileged, to have my education and abilities- and most patients can't. I know what I am doing (yay for having science degree), so it is easier for me, but it is still several hours of work.
So I have to make my own oil sometimes, especially with the whole horrible medical cannabis patient situation in Israel.
Meme description: In the background there is a photo of a strawberry with significant amount of grey mold on it. White letters with black outline letters form phrases on the top and of the picture. Top phrase: Whould you eat this? Bottom phrase: This is what Israeli medical cannabis patients get.
...
Butrytis is one of the fungi that most commonly attack cannabis. Here, you can see how it looks on strawberries.
It is hard to explain to people who don't use cannabis what the problem is, because for them, it is all just green stuff. But we all know what mold on strawberries looks like, and unless people don't really have other things to eat, they won't eat this strawberry.
Isreali Medical Cannabis patients have little choice, and this is what some of us got. Others got cannabis that was clearly harvested way to early. Think about an avocado that never gets ripe. Unripe avocado is quite disgusting, even if you "ripe it" by microwave. And in our case, the avocado/strawberry is our medicine, and we depend on it.
...
I made a meme about the current situation of medical cannabis in Israel. Israeli government LOVES to boast about how progressive it is with medical cannabis, but this is crap.
Patients are getting low quality flowers. Some patients received additional fungi. I am one of the people who tries to find a lab that will agree to check some samples that patients collected, but we are getting a lot of "no". No one else is taking patients seriously. There is a reform on the way, which is going to make medical cannabis more expensive to anyone who uses more then 20-30 gr. Till now all patients paid 370 ILS (~102 USD) for their medication, regardless of dose. After the reform, the shitty strains are going to cost at least 120 ILS per 10 gr'. Oils are way more costly. My license is for 40 gr (20 in oils) . 370 ILS (without shipping, which is 100 ILS) is still very costly for a medication.
Recently many patients were forced to move from one of the biggest providers, Tikun Olam (TO) to Breath of Life (BOL), including myself.
The quality is not good, even without mold. I am lucky, and I don't have it. The oils are sort of fine, although not getting my CBD oil for a month did a number on my body. I was able to make myself THC oil because I had extra buds. But I am one if the lucky ones.
BOL are almost impossible to reach, and are also quite inaccessible. I have to call them, and tell them I want to order, and then wait till they call me back, with a person who will schedule a delivery (they closed their distribution point, so all patients have to pay extra, except the new ones, who got 6 months of free shipping. 100 ILS is not cheap, and the older patients are forced to pay because moving between providers is hard and risky from many reasons.)
We are fighting so hard, but things are only getting worse.
Buying on the black market is not a real option. Prices are 70-12O ILS per 1 gr (if you buy a bulk it is cheaper, but the usually 100 ILS) and the fact that you don't know what you get. But at least the quality is higher.
This is what I got. It doesn't look that bad, but it is not very potent. I need much more to get the same effect I get from TO. I need to start from the beginning in trying to figure out what strains work for me.
It took me almost 1.5 years to find something that works, and now I have to go through the process again.
I try my best.
I wish I could do without cannabis. I wish I didn't need it to function and live. But it helps with my ptsd and pain and some autism symptoms. I don't know how much time I have till I run out of TO cannabis. I still have some, because I don't use as much as I need. I am afraid to use my medication, because what if I need it more later, but I won't have it anymore?
Here is a post on FB from a page I help to edit with the meme and more info.

I tried to do a Yami Kawaii style illustration. It didn’t work put, but at least it is sort of cute. I might try to make a digital version at some point.
But will it work for cheese?

Backstory and info for non-cannabis users:
So I am a medical cannabis user (100% legal, cop bots), and the other day I was just window shopping (on AliExpress) for a bigger grinder which will be easier and faster to use, because my 4 cm cutie is taking a lot of time to grind 5 gr’ (I make 40 capsules for vaping with my Vaporizer every period of time. 5 gr’ sounds like a small amount, but it is quite a lot to grind in one sitting).
I have seen those metal grinders with handles and really like the idea, because they seem to be easier to use. So then I discovered this jem of quastions about the product.
This kind of grinder (“4-layer grinder”), is especially designed for cannabis use, and it is not just general herb crusher. It has way of collect the trichomes (plant hairs) that fall from the plant material, and those can be collected easily and used when you collect enough. In simpler grinders those just build up and are hard to clean out. Since they actually have medical properties and can be smoked/vaped, it is a waste to just throw this material.
Why all the infodump? To explain you that this quite expensive grinder will work for herbs like tea, tabbaco and spices, although it is not what it is designed to do. It might also be able to collect trichomes of other plants if those are rich with some substances, like cannabis trichomes are. But if you don’t use cannabis, it is basically a waste of money. But since cannabis is illegal in many places, the manufacturers are not marking this product as cannabis spesific - even if the product itself is basically just an extra fancy medical herb grinder.
(Edit: Sorry for the mess that this post is! All the paragraphs got mixed up in this post while editing and re-editibg and nothing works! I tried to fix it, but it is probably still very hard to understand. Sorry for accidentally shitty post due to tumblr mixing all the paragraphs, probably by my own fault. You are welcome to call me out on any mistakes I made. There are probably tones of spelling and grammar mistakes. I am sorry.)

i spent christmas alone while my family got together and fought, and honestly i feel so good about this
i bought myself presents, cooked a big meal, drank wine and watched Home Alone 3 w/ my dog. I don’t feel sorry for myself at all.
meanwhile my sister threatened to disown my dad so he threatened to disown her, while my mom enabled and my other sister downed a bottle of wine to deal.
on the other side of the country, i was busy discovering, to my delight, that the that the 3rd installment of the Home Alone franchise not only stood up to the test of time, but contains some of the best oneliners and comedic timing I have ever seen.
honestly, keep toxic people out of your life. family isn’t everything, and bad family is often worse than no family. don’t be afraid to put in some distance, especially during high stress times like the holidays. you don’t actually owe them anything.
being alone for the holidays is so much better than being with people who make you unhappy.
Bringing this back for Thanksgiving!
I don't celebrate any of these holidays (not my religion/culture), but this is very important.
I think we should redefine functioning labels:
Low-Functioning Autistic: An autistic who is sober and grounded.
High-Functioning Autistic: An autistic who recently smoked the good kush.
Good one!
