we wait for a light that is not ours, with breath beneath our feet and our hearts in our heads. We trace the times around our fingers and swivel it in the spaces that lie far removed. The shifting focus from closeness to the distance between is jarring, and likewise is the feeling of loneliness that will remain here in your stead.
