Anyway, chapter 38 of A Cold Hearted Boy is up.

How come the FF7 fandom never talks about THIS SCENE? :

A dry, cool response that did little to betray the depths of turmoil beneath; no- this could not be. 

But then - of course; ShinRa did not just make wayward enemies; it made enemies of those that mattered the most. It made sense then, that this confrontation meeting of sorts was ever to come. So much for that fleeting taste of peace.

‘It never lasts, does it?’

…War, SOLDIER deserters, Sephiroth, Meteor, Diamond Weapon, Geostigma, the Remnants…

But Jenova? The calamity in all of her glory, in all of her power, unrestrained and here? 

‘…If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have any.’ 

These people… they were all so very cold. At the surface they were all very standoff-ish, but under that they were plain cold. But if the many days on President Rufus Shinra’s lap had taught her anything, it was that people had hearts, and that Rufus’ heart was in his hands. He always clenched, rubbed, or drummed the box on his lap as if the container was a tool or instrument. So now her rose-red eyes glided down his face, and she looked at his hands. Jenova bend over and leaned on her own thighs until her head was at the same level as the man in the wheelchair. She tilted her head to the side.

“Can you make a clever guess as to why I first thought of you?”

aaand here’s the comparison.  am i cool now?  this is what you do when you’re cool, right… i have more planned.  not today, though.  i’m in low power mode.
