About once a month he finds a new favorite place to hang out. So about once a month I have a moment where I can't find him and I look in all his usual hang out places and he's not there and I slightly panic because where the hell is he and then I just find him casually hanging out in a spot he's never spent time before.
Mind you he heard me calling his name over and over and probably watched me walk right by him a few times and he didn't make a sound and I can only assume it's because he enjoys watching me act like a fool.
His cuteness overpowers my annoyances. What was I complaining about?

Mayor Mamdani calls winners of his program to offer 1,000 affordable World Cup tickets to New Yorkers.
Sitting in a quarterly company meeting and it's just really hitting me how much I don't care about any of this anymore.
There's just so much stuff going on and you'd think I'd be excited or overwhelmed or disgruntled or any reaction at all other than 'yeah, this means nothing to me.'
Been working with some numbers and I think I can probably not have to stick around here more than another five years. That seems like a long time, but then it seems really close and either way probably knowing that is why I just laughed when the CEO said, "I want to talk about our rocks."

On my walk this morning I was on a stretch of road that had fence and trees on one side and the street on the other. Usually on my walks I might spot another person or two and we typically smile and say good morning as we pass each other. If they're the kind of people that do that. There are plenty of people who avoid eye contact when I say good morning and clearly it's because I'm incredibly intimidating.
This morning it lined up that there were three of us a in a row walking up the sidewalk: a woman with her Dobermann in front of me and a man with his big white dog and fluffy little cute dog behind me (I don't know their breeds but they're definitely dogs). I see the man with the two dogs pretty often and we always wave as we pass each other and we had already done our little wave on another street but he ended up behind me.
The woman in front was a few yards ahead and she stopped to take a picture and, other than trees and the fence, I had no idea what she was taking a picture of but good for her for finding beauty in everything. Then I got up to where she'd been and saw a skunk skittering along the fence line. I turned around to look at the guy behind me, pointed at the fence, and yelled, "There's a skunk," and he just looked at me blankly.
I don't know if he didn't hear me or he didn't know why I was telling him or he just didn't care, but I'm announcing to the universe that I pointed it out because I didn't know if his dogs were going to react to seeing a wild creature running by them and I didn't want them to get sprayed because that would have been unfortunate for all.
Phew. Okay. Now I've clarified that and someone else knows. It was bugging me that he had no reaction. I'm not just the crazy woman who enjoys pointing out critters to strangers.
But maybe I should be.
