I absolutely blame Facebook for this shift. Words cannot describe how freaking WEIRD it was in the mid-00s when there was suddenly this popular website where you were required to use your real, brickspace name and encouraged to post photos of yourself. Every single bit of Standard Internet Safety prior to then said that you should never ever ever do either of those.

If I was a person who posted frequently on places like FB and IG, I might have made a post this morning that said,

"Free taco! Yummy coffee! A break from the heat on my walk this morning! Happy Friday!"

And yet, the reality was:

My taco was cold. The arroz con leche latte was more very sweet milk than coffee, and, even though I was the fifth person in line, it took so long to get my order because there was one guy running the show and he made one complicated drink at a time. I got home way later than I usually do after my walks and didn't get my moment of zen because I had to hurry to get ready.

"My wallet's too small for my fifties and my diamond shoes are too tight!"

Anyway.

It was nice of the neighborhood to have a coffee truck around this morning and it was nice that it was close to one of my regular walking routes and it was even nicer that the first twenty-five people got a free taco and I was one of them. Go me.
