I'll direct it

Alright, I admit it, I am low-key regretting not hiring movers. Especially with a very large and heavy dresser needing to make it up a flight of stairs and my puny arms not getting the job done. So, that said, anyone willing to be paid with pizza and a pint is welcome to move said dresser. If not, that’s okay too, you’re still welcome to pizza and pint. Also, hi, hello, I’m Adelaide.

You didn’t get movers? That was a rookie mistake, love. Lucky for you -- I happen to like pizza and pints so you might have yourself a winner here. Unless someone else has already volunteered. 

Yes, all is good. I’m just a bit frazzled with all the lockdown and quarantine, and caring for humans and animals and… yes, I do pile on the work, as always. You know me too well. He is recovering fine, his new hip is settling in nicely, and he’s been allowed to be up and about a little. It’s still painful to watch, and Chris is basically the most helicopter parent around, even more so than he is with Lisa and CJ and that’s saying something. Me? I feel like between Chris and I, we would just take over the Capitol and change it all up. Aw, thank you, Col, that means a lot. Mmm, same for Lisa, although she gets to see her friends regularly at the park. I cannot just keep her at home or in the garden all day. So, she gets to wear a cool mask - like a superhero, she says - and go play. 

Are you taking time for yourself? Make sure you do something for you, too, Soph. Go for a walk out of the house, alone. Or lock yourself in a room for a bit and do something. And overworked Sophia is my least favorite. That’s good to hear that he’s recovering -- it’s going to take some time. I think it’s time for you to be president. I’ll be your campaign manager. Is that allowed if I’m not a citizen? Aye, me either -- I take the kids out, but no playing on playground equipment. Can’t risk it. Ev has his Star Wars masks and the girls have their princess ones. Although Millie wants a Star Wars one, too. She says baby yoda is so cute.

I’m the same. It’s funny how, once ye know how te do it, it happens on auto pilot. Ah, an amused Jodie makes for a relaxed Jodie which makes for a more patient teacher, I think. So the commentary is very welcome. 

That’s the same with a lot of things though, love. I don’t even remember how I drive home from my most common driven routes now. I kind of just black out and suddenly I’m turning my car off in my garage. Somewhat dangerous. I’d be limiting the sarcastic comments to your actions, though, right? Don’t think the wee ones would be able to understand it too well. 

I enjoy swimming meself. Sadly, I cannot, for ‘t life of me, remember how I learned it as a weelin’. So could we have ye around just for the sarcastic commentary, maybe? 

Aye, I can’t remember how I learnt either. All I know is I can swim. And I think that’s what matters. The sarcastic commentary? Do you think that’ll help the wee one learn to swim? Or is it just for your amusement? 

It slipped my mind, I have been preoccupied lately. It’s about Dodger’s hip replacement surgery? I have been ranting about the how and why for weeks. God, when Chris told me that he had been shot at with a BB gun as a puppy, I was just… how can anyone do this to a dog, much less to one as sweet as Dodger? Eh, we do whatever we can to stay afloat, right? I’ve been going beserk on anything political lately, so much so that I have been told to run for president. How are the kids doing?

Is everything alright, love? You should take a break -- don’t overwork and exert yourself, Soph. I know you have a habit of doing that. Is Dodger doing okay, now? People are horrible. It’s something that’s been long established. I think you’d make a great president. Too bad I can’t vote in this country. You’d have my vote. The kids are doing wonderfully. Ev is still learning from home -- and the girls aren’t going back to preschool yet, but they’re still having fun.

How could you forget about the puppy? Surgery? What did the wee fella do to himself that required surgery? I’ve missed you too -- guess I’ve been boring and just focused so much on work, lately.
