A Pirates Life is One to Love

I noticed end of last week that Shanks had RT’d something for the Save Stargate campaign that was OBVIOUS generative AI. I replied to the OP who immediately was an asshole in response.

After he was, I tried to dilute the hashtag with memes and shit while pointing out there was Gen AI in their hashtag… but when I went looking, I realized that not only was there SO MUCH Gen AI in there EVERYWHERE, but the majority were MAGA users.

Now Michael has been a VOCAL hater of MAGA and all of that nonsense. So I figured at some point, with all of my tweets, he’d say something, undo some RTs, etc. etc.

He ghosted me.

Anybody who knows me well enough knows that this man has NEVER ghosted me on social media. ESPECIALLY when I’m in his mentions A LOT. He KNOWS me. Again, anybody that has been here long enough knows that.

I kept trying. He kept ghosting/ignoring.

And it struck me - he didn’t care. He already knew and didn’t care because it was getting the hashtag in front of more eyes and it was boosting the numbers for their campaign.

He is more than happy to share Gen AI and tweets from VERY OBVIOUS maga followers if it means their dead show can come back and he can feel relevant again (sorry, this one HURTS and I’m feeling petty).

I knew what I had to do. I had JUST blocked Grays Harbor, a very important Once mutual I had gained all on my own just by supporting them always. I couldn’t let Michael slide because he had been kind to me and nostalgia.

I cried about it a lot the night I realized. And I HAD been dragging my feet about it because… like… come on…

Then I saw he had RT’d THIS from Joe. Joe had shared an article with BLATANT Gen AI in it.

I had started to suspect, when Michael was saying NOTHING to me despite me KNOWING he was seeing it… that Martin and the team who was set to work on the new show were fine with Gen AI. Hell, they were likely going to use it ON the show (this is ALL speculation, btw). Which is why NOBODY was saying anything about what I was pointing out.

So I’m done. Stargate is done for me. Michael is done for me. There is nothing left there I want to connect with anymore. This is NOT *MY* Stargate. Not even remotely. Not a place where they’ll coddle maga assholes just because they don’t want to lose their support.

Where they’ll help poison communities and steal from artists just to bring to that franchise back. Which… the whole thieving aspect of Gen AI… Michael KNOWS I’m an artist. Like a REAL artist with actual talent that doesn’t just type some prompt into a computer. He knows because he HAS art I have given him. That’s how he REMEMBERED me to begin with. It’s like a slap to the fucking face.
