Qifrey receiving comfort and forgiveness only for those to trigger the parasite that wants to kill him. He cannot even properly appreciate the relief he feels because it's inherently tied to the silverwood and to erasing Olruggio's memories. He loves Olruggio for how generous he is, but it's what he's offered that he cannot truly appreciate.
It fucks me up. The way one panel shows Olly being affectionate, with Qifrey doing his signature holding his hands together. And the next panel, coming as the symbol of QIFREY'S COMFORT, is completely devoured by massive silverwood roots. Even when it's not active it's eating up his life. His comfort is devastating to them both.
"You would show me grace, comfort me, and forgive me for lying to you" this would normally be a soothing moment. But it's horror for both of them. Because even through realizing he was lied to, Olruggio is more upset that his best friend has been suffering all this time, and for Qifrey that only adds to his guilt.

While I understand when artists don't really like a piece they made but share it anyway - I don't draw or anything, personally, but I get it through doing other forms of art and have struggled with confidence a lot - it's pretty off putting to see a post with an art I like and then the OP has added "I hate this but I wanted to post it anyway" as the caption. Like... Idk I'm not saying you shouldn't express yourself on your own post, but it is going to make people not want to reblog it. Like I see the art and I'm like "oh what cool art" and I start going for the reblog button only to see "UGH I HATE THIS"... yeah this doesn't really inspire me to reblog it.
Again, not saying artists should not be allowed to dislike things they make, or to not express their feelings, or that if they don't like it then they shouldn't post it. But it gives off... vibes. Personal vibes, you know? Like the post is now too personal for me to reblog - I don't tend to reblog posts where people just vent off their feelings, you know? Those posts are for them - not for my blog.
I'm not here to tell people how to do things or how to use their own blogs. But I'm way more likely to reblog an art that has a bajillion self criticisms in the tags than an art that has a "this is kinda bad" in the caption. Art IS personal but I only feel like I'm perpetuating the artist's self criticism when I reblog a post like that.
