Prince William of Wales entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in January 2006. He graduated on 15th December 2006 and was commissioned into the Blues and Royals, a regiment of the British army’s Household Cavalry.

In February 2011, Prince William was appointed as Colonel of the Irish Guards. He wore the Irish Guards mounted officer’s uniform during his wedding in 2011 and continued to wear the uniform every year during Trooping the Colours up until 2022.

On December 2022, Prince William was appointed as Colonel of the Welsh Guards, three months after being made Prince of Wales by his father The King. His wife, The Princess of Wales, replaced him as the new Colonel of the Irish Guards.

Seeing as an active service in the army is impossible given his position, Prince William instead started his four-month secondment with the RAF on January 2008. He attended RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire and graduated on April 2008.

A few months after his attachment with the Royal Navy, he went on to train as a full-time pilot with the RAF’s Search and Rescue Force for 18 months, starting on January 2009. 

He continued his service with the RAF Search and Rescue Force up until his retirement from active service in 2013.

On June 2008, Prince William started his two-month attachment with the Royal Navy at the Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth.

First of the two phases of his attachment includes training with both the Royal Navy and Royal Marines; second phase would be spending a number of weeks on HMS Iron Duke which was stationed in the West Indies.

Catherine Elizabeth Middleton was born on January 9th, 1982 in Reading, Berkshire. After a fairly normal childhood, excelling in her schooling, and entering university she met Prince William, whom she married in 2011. They share 3 beautiful children together. She became the Princess of Wales on September 9th, 2022. One day she will be Queen Consort of the United Kingdom alongside William who will be crowned King.

“A mother-of-three named Sarah Renton gave the princess of Wales a pair of star-shaped earrings that had been made by her cousin in Issy’s memory.

Emotional Kate turned and hugged Mrs Renton fiercely and promised to wear them.”

Mrs Renton added that Kate told her she would wear the earrings in future.

'She is very passionate about what she does. It was so great that she came down here today,' the mother said.
