not that i'm surprised at all but i can't stop thinking about how one of the reasons they didn't want to tell the world about their relationship was in case it ended. and now that's just not a possibility to them anymore because they collectively decided there's no one else out there who could match either of them this well, so why would they ever break up. they've just decided everything will be fine forever and i do genuinely believe they're right but also what a crazy thing to say

when dan started to apologize to phil and asked if he forgives him, phil’s face immediately scrunched up like the mere idea of there being something to forgive was ludicrous to him. it’s so phil to cut it down to the basics he signed up to love dan and he did just that everything else was just noise.

a man who would go back into the closet for 15 years for you without even blinking, without even thinking there’s anything to forgive you for, fully believing all that patience and time and space and agony was completely worth it because he loves you that much and is that devoted to you. a horrible liar who spends 15 years lying because you aren’t ready to tell the truth yet. you might think that this man doesn’t exist but he does. and his name is phil lester

just watched the new dan and phil video and my takeaway impression is mainly that they are so, so generous and forgiving towards their fans. they would be completely justified in clamming up and never saying jack shit to anyone and i think the thoughtfulness and kindness in saying “we know that even for many of the people who were shipping us more aggressively and violating our privacy were just very excited young people who didn’t know the impact they were having on us, and we don’t want anyone to feel bad, so take this as a clean slate” is utterly remarkable

also, the way dan talks about how phil lit up his life about halfway through is one of the most loving things i’ve ever seen. truly. i am so happy for the two of them—that they found each other in the first place, and that they now are at a point where they feel comfortable sharing this

I'm genuinely just so, so happy they can finally be their freest and happiest selves. have deep and authentic friendships with other people. make content that fully expresses everything they feel and think and are because now they don't have to cut off any of the edges anymore. (or the literal core, in their case.) I'm so happy they get to live their lives now. I'm so excited to be there with them.
