Zak's parents were killed by the leader of New Texas, Damien Winston, after they protested against the release of a new Enforcer robot they had to develop. It would cause death to those who even slightly disobey the law, but Winston didn't care. They were shot due to their withering loyalty. Zak, without family, wandered the streets of New Texas, hungry and lonely. Suddenly, Nicholas shows up, feeds the poor boy, and takes him in, showing him the way of an Outlaw.

I was reading the 2000's Blue Beetle and the Booster Gold comics and istg I literally BURST out laughing at some of the lines😭
